 The Black Bear
On a warm summer day in Tampico, I decided to move to a Canada taiga forest to take pictures of the scenery since i used to be a photographer i usually took pictures of snowy hills and the colors of a tree in fall. I just hoped no black bears get to close to my camp. | I took a plane oviously but it took about 6 hours to get there to Toronto city, from
there i piloted a personal king air into the actual forest it had water landing gear so i could land on the lake near the house i rented. The house was full of grocerys and there was a small jeep parked right outside with its own gas station. it was a high rent but it was worth it to be in this paradise. The next day i put on one of my huge coats i brought
because mornings here are pretty cold. I brought all my camara equiptment with me. | i got in the jeep saw that the gas level was kind of low but how much could i use? i didn't mind and went towards a cliff for my pictures. i saw the cliff from the air, on the way here, its not that far away and there is not that many trees so i could see my surroundings and notice a bear or an angry moose. i brought my bear spray but i don't think they make moose spray. when i got to the foot of the cliff
i noticed that it was even higher than i remembered, but i didnt really care, it didnt really matter so i | kept going up and up the steep path. on the path there where many many sighns that where placed there i guessed to scare people away. I thought it might be a animal reserve or something. they said things like "beware of mount SKULL" or "Warning: black bear" and "go back " and " your too close" or " GET OUT OF HERE"and even "what part of GO BACK didn't you understand"
all throughout the small path all the way untill almost at the very summit there was a not so thick rope with the same sign on both sides of the 'road' it said "climb from here on at your own risk, no automobiles aloud | from this point on" now this was a little scary but stupidly i kept going, on foot. I took my camera equiptment and i kneeled to move under the rope and keep going the equiptment was heavy and the soil
was thik and hard to walk on. i was determined to get to the the cliff edge so i closed my eyes and kept going. a while later there was a moose lying in the ground, half eaten by | bear bites, im no doctor but the moose was so stiff that i think the moose had a heart attack right before it was attacked or maybe when it was attacked. i was supper scared now, why would a moose have a heart attack. but i didn't care and kept going and just a few minutes later i giant black
through it back without looking i coulden't dare look and see the bear right behind me. i could see the rope and the jeep i saw a wide footed hare hopping | bear stanted on two legs right in front of me standing at least 7 meters high and 4 meters wide. its filthy fur waved in the wind as my heart skipped a beat and my whole body paralized on the spot couple seconds later i came too and i started running and realized that i was still carring my camera, i .
by the trees. i got to the rope and jumped right over it and got in the jeep. the bear was right behind me but the bear stopped right on the rope i noticed just now that the rope had some herbs hanging from it i thought it was moss but i think it repels the bear . i drove down the hill and to the house i rented, packed my stuff , got on my king air and went home
back in tampico i went right to a hunting shop and baught a huge hunting gun the maneger told me "you hunting now, what are you hunting ?" and i said "bear" "you mean bears, right?" he said. and i shook my head and i said
