1: Once upon a time there was a mighty warrior and king named Odysseus. He fought in the Trojan War and was the one that led them to victory.

2: It has been 10 years since the 10-year war has ended but Odysseus still isn’t back to his kingdom, Ithaca, where he had to leave his queen, Penelope, and his son Telemachus.

3: In Ithaca, the young prince Telemachus is now grown up but other men want to marry Penelope to get control over Ithaca and Odysseus’ things because they think he is dead.The suitors eat and take all of Odysseus’ things but Queen Penelope is faithful to Odysseus and she continues to wait for him.

4: In the land of Scheria, Odysseus is welcomed in the palace and tells the story of how he got there. On his way home after the war, Odysseus and his ship come across the land of the Lotus Eaters.

5: The Lotus Eaters give Odysseus and his men special fruit, which causes them to forget about going home. Odysseus then quickly gets his men and they sail far away from the land of the Lotus Eaters.

6: Odysseus and his men then arrive at an island inhabited by big mysterious one-eyed beasts called Cyclopes.While searching island, they come across a cave full of sheep and food but they realized it is Polyphemus’, the Cyclops son of the god of the sea, Poseidon, and they get trapped in cave.

7: To get Polyphemus to move the big rock blocking the exit, he gives him a drink to make him fall asleep and make him blind and he tells Polyphemus his name is “Nobody.”

8: Odysseus and his men then escape the cave by hiding with the sheep. As Odysseus’ ship sails away, his pride got the best of him and he reveals his true name to Polyphemus.Angry, Polyphemus calls upon his father, Poseidon, to get revenge on Odysseus.

9: While trying to sail to Ithaca, they encounter Aeolus, the god of winds, and he gives them a bag of winds to send them home but they cannot open the bag. Despite Odysseus’ warning his men open the bag, sending them far from Ithaca and they land on Circe’s island.

10: 1 | Circe turns some of Odysseus’ men into pigs and he goes to her to bring them back. While going there he meets Hermes, who gives him a plant that will make him immune to Circe’s power but he has to do whatever she wants.

11: Although Circe can’t turn him into an animal, he stays there for a year thinking they were only days. Then after coming back from the Land of the Dead, Circe tells Odysseus of the Sirens, Scylla, and Charybdis, the whirlpool.

12: To pass the Sirens, he has his men put earwax in their ears so the Sirens’ singing won’t lure them but he tells his men to tie him to the mast.

13: They pass Scylla and Charybdis by sailing close to Scylla.

14: Once they get pass the three creatures, they land on Helios’ island but Zeus takes his men’s lives in exchange for killing Helios’ cattle. Now alone, Odysseus arrives on Calypso’s island.

15: He forced to stay for 7 years with Calypso because she likes him but he loves Penelope. The Gods force Calypso to set him free, at Athena’s urging.

16: As Odysseus is going home, Poseidon destroys his raft and Odysseus washes up on the island of the Scheria. The princess finds him and takes him to the palace where he is welcomed.

17: After telling his story, King Alcinous sends him home to Ithaca.

18: Athena disguises him as an old beggar and Odysseus goes to his loyal swineherd, Eumaeus.

19: While there, his son Telemachus visits Eumaeus. Odysseus shows his true form to Telemachus and the two unite as father and son. They make a plan to overthrow the suitors and Telemachus and a disguised again, Odysseus return home.

20: Telemachus tells Penelope that it is time to choose a suitor so she holds a competition. Whoever strings and shoots Odysseus’ bow will be the new king, but she does this knowing that only Odysseus can string it.

21: When the suitors give up on the bow, Odysseus as the beggar successfully does it and shows his true self.

22: While they were trying to string the bow, Telemachus and the swineherds took away all the weapons so that Odysseus can defeat them.

23: After Odysseus defeats the suitors in an epic fight, he goes to see Penelope.

24: She doesn’t believe that it is actually Odysseus at first but after testing him she believes that it is in fact Odysseus.

25: They embrace each other and live happily ever after.
