FC: Luke Sain: Book in a Bag Project WHITE Dive deep into the books of the Histories. Mixbook Scrapbook
(Horde city shown above) White is the third novel of a series. It is the finale to the story. Black, Red, White, Green(The novel of knowledge) Written by Ted Dekker Mixbook by: Luke Sain
This heart is for the overflowing love that is in this book. Thomas is the ruler of the Circle, the good people. He is in love with a Scab, Chelise. They are enemies and have been for forever. He rescues her from the Horde city. He teaches her to read the books of the histories. Finally, Chelise drowns in Elyon's red pool and gets rid of her disease so she can be with Thomas.
In the book Red, the book before this, fighting was the ultimate thing that kept the peace between the forest people and the Horde. Thomas Hunter has now changed that and won't hurt a fly. There is absolutely no violence what so ever. The Horde are hunting the Circle down and want a good fight. The Circle, however, have master escape and rescue plans. When Thomas escapes from jail, 20 guards stand around him. He slices an arm with his sword but immediately heals it with his fruit, the gift of Elyon.
The Desert used to be the home of the Scabs but now they live in the biggest forest on the planet. Now the Circle are nomads moving around in the desert by trying to anticipate the Horde's next attempt to capture them all. The Desert was also a symbol to the Circle because it is naturally a symbol of heat and hard times but the Circle have put their trust in Elyon and now call it their home. They would stay in valleys or in small areas with few trees that hold their precious fruit. The Circle is split into tribes so if attacked in the desert there are still more members of the circle.
The circle is the symbol of the group, the Circle. Elyon left the Circle to be in Red and when he left he drew a circle in the sand around all of his present followers. So they have been called the circle and respect sand drawn circle everywhere. They are only known as the circle by themselves. The Scabs know them as albinos, even though most of the people in the circle's skin is darker than most Scabs.
Scaly, rough skin and a misunderstanding of all thing Elyon follow around Scabs.
Disease was not important to the Circle, but that is the story. Chelise is a Scab which means she is infected with what the Circle call the disease. She has scaly skin and her brain is damaged. She can't think straight. She thinks that the Circle are the people that are diseased. That's the issue with Thomas and Chelise being together. If they are repelled from each other, how could they ever live together? The only way to get rid of the disease is to literally drown in a red pool. Sacrifice is the key. It is important to the Circle because this is how they all became clean and without the disease.
These old books represent the books of the histories. This is the thing that keeps the story going and moving forward. Thomas has dreams to another reality which is the world we live in today. It is about to die from a virus and he is trying to stop it. The books could tell him how he got to this planet in the book, Black. It could show him everything. But they are locked up in the Horde library. There are blank books though. Thomas wrote in one of them and it happened in the other reality. These books are what Thomas was, is, and still is after. It's the "spine of the book." Another cool thing is that when Thomas gets to look upon these books, the authors of the books are some of the same names of the books of the bible.
When Chelise drowns in the red pool, she is in the Horde city with everyone watching her, including the leader, her father. At this event, he orders for all albinos to leave without being harmed. So they go, still without the Books of the Histories. They live in the desert now with no threat what so ever from the Horde yet. The books hold the secret to everything. It can tell how Thomas happened here in Black. It could tell what would happen in the other reality. The quest for all the books is still on. In the other reality, the world is about to die. They realize that Thomas' blood added to the vaccine would work. The only way to get the blood would be to kill him. So they do, and Thomas agrees to it. His friend and sister sit outside the room where he is dieing wondering what it would be like to be that loving and courageous. Thomas is still alive in the other world though and so far without any other disruptions.
