FC: GIRLS TRIP - BAHAMA CRUISE 01.25 - 01.30 2012
 Anxious to get our vacation started, we arrived at the airport early to dine at Ike's. Jane brought the party with umbrellas for our beverages. The Bahama Mama's are officially on their way! | 01.25.12 | S H A W N J E N D I N A H S H E L I A J A N E
CHICKS AHOY! | 01.26.12 | After a late night arrival into Jacksonville Florida, a short nights sleep and a quick stop for refreshments (wink, wink) we arrived at the port. We were able to board late Thursday morning without incident for our highly anticipated journey.
Officially | the best day ever | Upon arrival, Shawn and Jen received a "welcome aboard" gift from their sister-in-law. After quickly unpacking in our cute, albeit quaint accommodations, we headed to the Lido deck, waved goodbye to Jacksonville and set sail for paradise!
 we set sail!
Our first dinning experience was both delicious and fun. The entertainment and yummy desserts were the highlight! Chocolate Melting Cake anyone? After dinner we wandered around the ship, checked out some karaoke and a piano bar before finally settling into the disco for the evening! The disco turned out to be a regular post-dinner hangout for us.
DAY TWO! Sporting our "Bahama Mama" t-shirts (our girls trip mantra) we had a quick breakfast at the buffet and then hit the Lido deck where we discovered the airbrush tattoo artist. Shelia, Jane and Dinah couldn't resist. We also found time for a refreshing beverage (Monkey cups today) before getting ready to explore Grand Bahama Island (towns of Freefort and Port Lucaya.)
After arriving at Freeport Harbor, we grabbed a cab to Port Lucaya. There we spent some time shopping at the straw market, browsing a few stores and just soaking up the atmosphere. While posing for a photo with a local artist, Jane might have gotten just a little more than she bargained for.
After our shopping excursion, we walked down to the beach for a little lunch at Billy Joe's and a chance to dip our toes in the surf. We sampled their famous conch fritters along with a few other goodies and topped it off with some tasty tropical drinks.
After returning to the ship from Grand Bahama Island, we dressed for formal night! After dinner we boogied the night away! Complete with disco ball cups!

We arrived at Nassau early Saturday morning, where, as luck would have it, we met some very interesting entertainers. After a brief but colorful bombardment on their stage, we headed to town to check out the local shops. We made a quick stop at Senior Frogs for some fun photos, took a short walk along the waterfront and then caught a "cab" to a restaurant for a relaxing lunch.
 Junkanoo Beach
We had a harbor view lunch at the Poop Deck restaurant! More tropical refreshments, before catching another ride to Paradise Island. At the island we went to Cabbage Beach and walked over to the Atlantis Resort. | YUM!
Farewell Australia... until next time.... | The water was crystal clear at Cabbage Beach. Although chilly, Shawn, Jen and Dinah ventured in for a quick dip and found a treasure (a rock).
After some relaxing time in the sun we walked up the beach to check out the Atlantis resort. There, we observed the sea life on display, walked through the public areas of the resort and caught a taxi back to the ship.
 atlantis | paradise island bahamas
Bon Voyage! | That evening, after leaving Nassau, we attended the deck party. The fun-filled event was complete with line dancing, amazing people watching and a midnight buffet. And... more desserts!
MIDNIGHT BUFFET AND EVENING SHIP VIEWS
DAY AT SEA | Our last day was spent at sea. Although the weather was a little cool, we sat at pool and soaked up any remaining rays of sunshine that we could find! | 01.29.12
