9: In the Tlingit tradition, Raven is a trickster, yes, but he is also a hero. It is said that a miser in the north was hoarding light, keeping it all to himself. Raven took it upon himself to trick the miser into giving up the sun, moon, and stars, and so brought light to all the people. After seeing the size of these things and hearing their unbelievably loud screeching, it is easy to believe that they are capable of anything.
