FC: OUR ALASKA ADVENTURE
1: This adventure is to celebrate Ryan's high school graduation! Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. John Muir | 2 0 1 2
2: K E T C H I K A N | first city on our inland passage trip. we visited a totem pole museum & saw a raging stream.
4: THE INLAND PASSAGE Our ferry trip began in Ketchikan. We saw beautiful mountains, bays, and many animals.
5: Snow covered mountains | Island lighthouse | Homes on the coast | Our boat's wake & mountains
6: MENDENHALL GLACIER | After traveling all night, our ferry delivered us to Juneau. This was our first sight!
7: Deb & Ry at the Glacier | Nugget falls was huge! | Ed getting sprayed by Nugget falls | Mendenhall up close!
8: Juneau A beautiful city by the inland passage. We hiked by a creek that had been used for generating electricity.
10: GUSTAVUS We loved our B&B, especially Ed & Ryan who loved the food. We played horseshoes, hiked, & biked.
11: BARTLETT COVE Hiking on a trail, we traveled thru a rain forest with Tlingit tree trunk totems.

13: ANIMALS | Sea lions, mountain goats, orca, puffins, bear, otter

16: We took a boat out into Glacier Bay. It was cold and rainy when we started, but the rain let up and by the end the sun was out. It was cold on the deck, but we had hot cocoa and coffee to warm us up On deck, we got close to whales, bears, and glaciers.
19: These were our first views of the Alaska Range. | On our trip to Denali, we stopped at a scenic viewpoint.
20: We took a 92 mile bus trip into Denali National Park. We saw many amazing animals. Everywhere we looked were beautiful mountains, valleys, and tundra.
23: Prospector's tent. Glad this wasn't our hotel. | mining for gold | We searched, but there was none to be found!
24: We stayed in cabins outside of Denali. These were taken late at night outside our cabin. The sun was barely going down. LOVED the light. | Sled dogs. We saw them pull a sled. During winter, they are used in the Park.
25: Mt Healy Hike | A 1700 feet climb! | Hard work, but we made IT! | We hiked from To the HERE TOP
26: On our last day at Denali, we did a couple of hikes. | TAIGA TRAIL

30: Kenai fjords national park We took the railroad here and then the boat out into the fjords.

34: On our way back to Anchorage from Kenai Fjords, we rode in the Observation Car. The sun came out and we could see great scencs.

37: We did several short hikes. One out to a raging stream. Another to a beautiful river.

40: Alaska Aviation Museum Before we got on our plane to come home, we visited this museum. It was full of history about Alaskan pilots. We got to play on simulators and look at airplanes.

43: It was a wonderful adventure. We give thanks to God for everything! For the Lord is the Great God, and the King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He make it, and His hands formed the dry land. Psalm 95:3-5
