Other than working and going to school, I enjoy physical activities such as running, dancing, hiking, and basketball. My favorite quote to live by in life is that “One can only see clearly within the heart; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” | Jacob, 21 I am from Galesburg, IL. I attended Knox College where I studied physics and education. I am currently taking a break from school to serve in AmeriCorps NCCC. I am an amateur singer-songwriter and enjoy folk music, Frisbee, and chess. After AmeriCorps, I plan on returning to school to earn a degree. | Catlin, 23 My name is Cat and I’m from Carmel, CA. I graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara in June of 2009 with a B.A. in Global Studies. My dream is to travel the world and take photographs. I live to laugh and I also love playing Taboo. I’m excited to work hard and make a difference. | David, 22 Being a Michigan native, I’ve learned to love my native state’s outdoors, and I’m always up for some rustic time spent camping, hiking, and soaking up the intimate atmosphere of a good campfire. When not enjoying outdoor pursuits, my academic side led me to study Communication and Anthropology at Michigan State University, where I graduated in the spring of ’09. After four years of being surrounded by books, I look forward to getting my hands dirty working in NCCC. | Sandra, 20 Well here’s something small about me. Name is Sandra Ann Schenberger. I got my diploma at M.Y.C.A, Michigan Youth Challenge Academy, a.k.a. boot camp. I plan on going to college for cosmetology. I’m a tattoo artist so art is my life. Yay!! I joined AmeriCorps to get college money, become a firefighter, and travel the country to help others. Well there, I have no idea what else to write about. Peace. Love. Whoa!
