S: Bike Vacation July 2011
BC: We started our trip in Calgary on July 23rd, spending two nights and visiting Jake, seeing the museum and the Hoodoos. We then left Calgary, and rode to Lake Louise. After Lake Louise we went to Jasper, then to Quesnel via Prince George. We visited Barkerville, then stayed overnight in 100 Mile House. We then stayed overnight in Squamish traveling there via Duffy Lake. That was it. What a trip.
FC: Bike Vacation
1: Dinosaur Park and Alberta Badlands
4: The Hoodoos -take millions of years to form and stand 5 to 7 metres tall. Each Hoodoo is a sandstone pillar resting on a bedrock of shale with a large stone on top.
6: the road to Lake Louise
10: Stayed overnight at Lake Louise Inn. Not our favorite.
11: Bow River
13: Fairmont Lake Louise
17: Moraine Lake about 20 minutes from Lake Louise
18: Icefields Parkway
21: Athabasca Glacier
23: Pine Bungalow Cabins in Jasper. We loved it here, right on the river. A herd of Elk spent most of the day right across the river from us.
25: around Jasper
