S: Washington DC 2012

FC: Washington D.C. 2012

1: On our first day in D.C. we took the Metro to our hotel, dropped our bags, and headed right out to explore. The first thing we did was go to Arlington Cemetery where we visited Grand-mommy Doth and Grandpa George.

2: After visiting Arlington Cemetery, Chris and Sharra took us to Georgetown for a fabulous pizza dinner before we headed to the monuments and memorials for a nighttime tour. | Dean and Deluca

3: Washington Monument | It was really beautiful to see the monuments and memorials at night. We spent close to 3 hours remembering our great leaders and all those who gave their lives to serve our country.

10: On the second day, Uncle Chris took us out to Mount Vernon, George Washington's home. There we explored his home, grounds, and watched an inspirational film about him.

14: Mass at the Basilica was beautiful and was concelebrated by 300 priests, bishops, and cardinals. | Pam and Moira pause for a quick picture in front of the beautiful basilica.

15: National Archives where we viewed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. | We also spent time exploring museums such as the International Spy Museum, Museum of Natural History, and the Archives.

16: On the third day we were in D.C. we went to the March for Life. The march started at the Washington Monument and ended at the Supreme Court. Half a million people, many of them young high school students, marched the long walk for life. The streets were crowded with pro-life signs, and in the end the march was successful. For us, it was our first time at the march, and we were all happy we got to experience it.

21: The last night we were in DC, Chris and Sharra invited us over for dinner. Uncle Chris made the most amazing pizza, and we all enjoyed the delicious food while relaxing after a long, tiring trip! | Auntie Pam and Joe enjoy the company of Conor and Cassia!
