3: If one is to believe the legend the founder of Ljubljana is the Greek prince Jason together with his companions, the Argonauts. According to the legend, Jason and the Argonauts, while fleeing from King Aites, from whom they had stolen the golden fleece, sailed from the Black Sea up the Danube, from the Danube into the Sava, and from the Sava into the Ljubljanica. Around here Jason encountered a terrible monster, which he fought and slew. This monster was the Ljubljana dragon. According to local legends, when a virgin crosses the bridge, the dragons will wag their tails.

14: The Postojna caves were created by the Pivka River. 5.3 km of the caves are open to the public, the longest public accessible depth of any cave system in the world.
15: Traveling through Postojna Cave | The caves are also home to the endemic Olm, the largest trogloditic amphibian in the world. The olm, is a blind amphibian that lives in the waters that flow underground through this extensive limestone region including waters of the Soa river basin near Trieste in Italy, through to southern Slovenia, southwestern Croatia, and Herzegovina.
