BC: The End
FC: Hope Lake: Telluride, Colorado | AUGUST 2009
Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen
The terrain varied a lot on this hike. We went through forests for the first 40-45 minutes and then the hike opened out into more meadows and wildflowers once we passed the treeline
Meadows and Wildflowers | More amazing wildflowers we hit along the way... | Poor Cory was a bit tired from the 5 course wine dinner the night before!
It is only a 7 mile hike, but one of the most beautiful Telluride
Brett made it with pretty much no time to adjust to the altitude. It was Cory and our handicap for the 10 years we have on him :)
A view down toward Trout Lake. You cannot see the lake, but it is behind the pine trees on my right. It took us about 40 minutes to get to this part of the hike.
Believe it or not, most of these were taken with Cory's iPhone. I forgot to put a chip in my camera that morning | These are pictures from our first hike to Hope Lake. We had much better weather than we had when we went with Brett 3 weeks later!
Me and my Grif Dog, chillin at the top!
 Amazing Views
Can you tell the Griffin had a ball? I hope this isn't his last year for really good hikes. We gave him some Rimadyl and he was ahead of us the entire time!
You would have thought I reached Heaven at the top of this hike. It was breathtaking.
Brett checking out some of the cool cliffs above Hope Lake | Griffin saw Brett and started "howling". Maybe being protective?
Cory enjoying his view. Pictures seriously don't do justice. You have to see this hike in person! | A pretty cool campsite. Imagine what the stars look like out here??
The lake is at about 11,880 feet. We decided to climb up to the saddle which was at about 12,300 feet. Cory took this picture of me on the way up.
It started to hail, but it didn't stop us from taking some great pics. Too bad I lost my good quality pics and had to use the ones from Facebook!
After the temperature dropped, we finally decided to say goodbye to our favorite spot and head back to Telluride. Had lunch at our favorite post-hike joint, The Cornerhouse Grill
