1: Riviera Maya, Mexico April 19-April 26, 2011

2: This air traffic control tower was one of the first things we saw as we arrived in Cancun. | The rental car, a Chevy Aveo

3: We stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya. When we arrived we were greeted with glasses of champagne to enjoy during check-in. These flowers were the centerpiece in the lobby.

4: The hotel mistakenly thought we were on our honeymoon. | Our beautiful room

5: We ordered room service one night and they set it up for us on the terrace. | The terrace

6: Little critters | The view from our front door | We saw this crab climbing the stairs on our way to dinner one night. | This gecko hung out on our ceiling. We saw him again a couple of days later.

7: Mimosas for breakfast every morning! | We had beautiful views as we ate our breakfast outside.

10: As we exited the beach path on our first night, this was our view of the ocean.

13: There was a school of fish swimming by the shore. They swam right around our legs.

14: Enjoying the beach Even on the beach, servers would come to take our drink orders and deliver our drinks to us.

15: This man walked up and down the beach raking up and collecting the seaweed. Talk about dedication to having a beautiful beach! | Relax

17: Monkey! | On our last day at the beach, we got to have a mini photo shoot with Simba the monkey :)

20: To tackle the tricky business of mounting a floatie, we developed the 'twurn'. | twurn (verb) part twirl, part turn

21: Ordering my drink and picking it up without ever leaving my floatie | Aah, relaxation

22: Dining Out The resort had 7 dinner restaurants, so we ate someplace different every night. | French restaurant

31: Tubing | First, we floated through a tunnel of mangroves. | Leland got tired of floating and got out to swim.

32: Snorkeling | The iguana greeted us when we arrived to go snorkeling.

35: A Giant Snail | You can see the trail it made in the sand. | A Large Stingray

36: These fish were as long as my arm and they were swimming so close to us it felt like I could reach out and touch them.

37: There were iguanas everywhere!

54: There was a mariachi band that played as we ate our lunch. | The beautiful view | Lunch!

57: Leland- Wow, our first international vacation together. It was a week full of incredible beauty and truly rejuvenating relaxation. I enjoyed spending every minute with you. I am so lucky to be with someone who pushes me to experience new places. I love you so much and I can't wait to see what incredible things the future holds for us. Love, Amber
