20: Joe's Retirement Party 12.30.11 Drive to New York City through the seven levels of the candy cane forest, then we went past the sea of swirly twirly gumdrops, and then we drove through the Lincoln Tunnel, to pass Tom's Restaurant, around Central Park, down 5th Avenue, past the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Art to check in at the New York Hilton. Head out on foot to Radio City Music Hall, Time's Square, Macy's and the Empire State Building to arrive for a grand surprise at Grand Central. . .Abby arrives to surprise ALL the boys. We are all walking up Park Avenue when Steven discovers he lost his wallet at Grand Central. We drop Abby's luggage at hotel, get new room keys and Steven cancels his debit card. We head to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center then back to the Hilton where a message on our phone said Steven's wallet had been found. We opened Abby's Christmas gifts. popped champagne and relaxed at the Hilton lounge. 12.31.11 Tour of New York City: Times Square, World Trade Center Memorial, N.Y. Stock Exchange, Wall Street (wanted to occupy part of it), Trinity Church, World Financial Center, Federal Hall, Madison Square Park, Flat Iron Building, South Street Seaport, The Brooklyn Bridge, 5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Central Park, Strawberry Fields, Dakota Building, boat ride past Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Steven talked to the man that found his wallet and he is going to mail it to him. He was on his way to the airport when he found it and did not have time to return it so he took it home to CT. All contents were still in it. Steven told him to use money from the wallet to pay for the postage. Attend Joe's party at Times Square, countdown to midnight, watch ball drop at Times Square 1.1.2012 At midnight kiss and hug family, dance, jump up and down, blow horns, throw confetti, drink champagne, celebrate as much as possible. The following week, while on a cruise we found a wallet. The owner was from CT. Steven's wallet was in the mail pile when we returned home. The contents were still in it. Every dollar.
