FC: Spider Man | Spider-Man Archetypal story lines, characters, and heroic cycle By: Shane Meltz
1: Synopsis Peter Parker was just an ordinary man who wanted to be a photographer until one day when he got bit by a spider. This spider bite gave him super hero powers, and with these powers he protects the city of New York from harm while keeping his true identity a mystery. Eventually he encounters his arch nemesis the Green Goblin. At the same time as fighting his arch nemesis he confronts many minor enemies and allies,while also trying to manage his personal life.
2: THE BIG APPLE | The Archetypal characters | Peter Parker- An ordinary man until he got his powers and then he guaranteed revenge on his uncles killed starting his journey of becoming a hero. | Peter Parker also know as spider man has super hero powers that give him the traits that resemble a spider. He is trying to protect the streets of New York from the hands of evil, while trying to balance his lifelong dreams of being a photographer and being with the girl he loves Mary Jane.
4: Mary Jane- Is a young lady the same age as Peter who has always lived next door to him catching his eye. Her dream has always been to be an actor on Broadway and star in a play. | In the story Mary Jane is shown as the shapeshifter since she has always caught the attention of Peter. Now she is finally given Peter a chance to be with her, so Peter is questioning his decision to be spider-man in order to be with and protect Mary Jane.
7: Uncle Ben- Peter Parkers uncle who he has raised Peter since he was young and eventually got killed by a carjacker. | Uncle Ben gets exposed as the Mentor in the story after the advise that he gave Peter "With great power comes great responsibility." This is huge in Peter Parkers life in terms of when he is Spider-Man. When there is every any doubt of being Spider-Man Uncle Ben's advise teaches Peter that since he was given such great powers that he has to do what he was meant to do with them.
9: Norman Osborn- Father of Peter's best friend Harry. Mr. Osborn is a scientist who eventually does an experiment also giving him superhuman strength and powers. Unlike Peter though he uses his powers for evil at last making him become the Green Goblin. | Norman Osborn is shown as the Shadow in the movie since he is the evil character The Green Goblin. The Green Goblins main goal is to destroy the city and the only one standing in his way is Spider-Man. So the goblin wants to kill Spider-Man so then nothing can stop him from his evil schemes.
11: Harry Osborn- The best friend of Peter parker. eventually later in the story gets his father killed. | The Threshold guardian in the story is Harry. Harry's father who was the Green Goblin got killed in the fight between Spider-Man and the Goblin. Harry does not understand how his father was killed he just knows it was by Spider-Man. So in attempt to honor his father he promises that he is going to kill Spider-Man. So even though he wasn't the main villain he is still out to get the hero.

13: In the story of Spider-Man Peter Parkers Call to Adventure was when his uncle got killed. This was when he first used his powers to track down the criminal, When he tracked down his uncles killer he took revenge on him by killing him.
15: Peter parkers threshold crossing was when his character of Spider-Man started to get recognized by the media and the people of New York. | The helper in the story is Peter Parkers Uncle Ben. When he gave Peter the advice of "With great power comes great responsibility," Peter was able to learn exactly what he was meant to do with his powers.
17: In the story Spider-Man has many allies and enemies. His allies are Mary Jane and his Aunt May. Even though they don't know that Peter is Spider-Man they are still looking out for him in their best interest. He also has many enemies but the main one is the Green Goblin who is out to get him since he is the only one keeping him from ruling New York. Spider-Mans tests include trying to manage his personal life while trying to protect the city from criminals and danger,
19: The Supreme Test in the story was when Spider-Man was tricked into the burning building by the Green Goblin. When the Goblin finally got Spider-Man into the building he was waiting there to kill him. Spider-Man was outmatched but he was able to hold off the Goblin long enough for him to make a mistake. Spider-Man dodged the Goblins fatal attack and it ended up killing the Goblin. So Spider-Man emerged victorious in the battle.
20: After the battle and Spider-Man was victorious his rewards were being praised by the city for killing the Green Goblin. He also ended up with Mary Jane the girl he had alway wanted. | On Spider-Mans return he returned The Green goblins body to his son Harry. Harry saw that Spider-Man was the killer of his father and guaranteed vengeance leaving it open for a sequel with him as new enemy.
