Pirates of the Caribbean - Page Text Content

BC: And that's it for now, from your good friend William Turner. There are many more adventures to come, so I will constantly update our adventure journal. I hope you enjoyed it! "Keep a weather eye on the horizon"

FC: Pirates of the Caribbean Written by William Turner

The Beginning Hi. My name is William Turner. You can call me Will. And I'm here to take you step by step on our amazing adventures in beautiful British Columbia. So sit back, relax and of course enjoy!

Halloween of 2003 Shortly after the first movie was released (Curse of the Black Pearl) we decided to step up our game during our annual Halloween Productions. Prior to Pirates, we had dabbled in the Adams Family, Harry Potter, and the typical nasty dead bodies as our Halloween decore. Little did we know that Pirates would soon set sail on our biggest adventure yet! P.S. Our costumes weren't really "up to standards" back then.

Halloween 2004 The crowds reaction to our costumes of 2003 was amazing! It was at that moment that we decided that perhaps we had something going. So we continued the pirate tradition, updated our costumes (to the best of our ability at the time) and set out for more pillaging around Vancouver Island. This year, rather than continuous improve during our production, we developed a short skit to entertain our audiences.

We wandered around the city of Victoria promoting our costumes and Halloween

These photos were taken near the Empress Hotel

Our stage for our production is basically just our driveway! | We also re-created the poster from the movie with our own photos.

Tall Ships 2005 The Tall Ships came to visit the harbour of Victoria in June of 2005. What a perfect event for us to plunder the city once more. Oh and I do believe I have forgotten to explain the cast of the Piratical Crew. The Cast Jack Sparrow.....Denise Pearson Captain Barbossa.........Bob Pearson William Turner... Erin Rooke Elizabeth...Victoria Pearson Soldier... Spencer Pearson Later on in our story this cast list is changed. For at the moment I played Elizabeth Swann.

Filming Our Own Movies After going out in public with our costumes, we decided that we would like to show off our character impersonations as well. We decided to create our own version of the first Pirates movie by lip-syching our mouths over the actual audio from the movie. This turned out to be more of a success than we could have ever imagined! (To see the video visit youtube user Pantoof24)

Dead Man's Chest Promotion When Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was released we all became overly excited. We went to our local movie theatre, Silver City, and promoted the movie dressed in costume. This was when I tried my hand and becoming William Turner. It became a success, so Erin and I officially swapped roles.

The first day promoting, Erin joined us and our chracters stayed the same. | However, the next day we promoted the second Pirates movie, she was unable to attend, so I filled the boots of the Swashbuckling pirate.

Halloween 2006; Dead Man's Chest After the second movie came out we realized that we had to go back to Pirates. In 2005 we tried our hand at Indiana Jones, which was a success, but the fans craved pirates. My brother, Spencer Pearson, decided that he wanted to become James Norrington rather than just a regular soldier. So, reluctantly, my mom, Denise Pearson, decided to attempt sewing for the first time. She ended up sewing all of our costumes to almost perfection. We also decided to attempt live voice overs for our production that year. It too was a major success! The fans loved it, and we had more fun then ever! (youtube: Pantoof24)

Victoria Day Parade Well, now that Jack Sparrow could sew costumes our adventures were limitless. We entered into the Victoria Day Parade and took home the prize for best Entertainment Group! It was a very exciting day for all of us. Norrington and I developed a sword fight which awed the crowds as did Jack and Barbossa. With many pirates behind us hamming up the scene, not t mention the wenches, we were an entertaining group of plundering pirates!

At Worlds End Promotion Just like with Dead Man's Chest, we rallied up the troops to promote the final enstalment of the trilogy. With our new costumes from Dead Man's Chest, we anticipated the crowds reaction. However, the new movie ment something more. Something different. It ment, with all eagerness, we would all, without doubt, be getting new costumes. The crowd once again applauded our arrival and took countless pictures with their favourite characters.

WENCH DAY Along with our adventures we encountered many new friends and contacts. Soon a pirate festival was in the making, and along with the festival a website was created. For this website however, we needed some pictures of general pirates attacking the city of Victoria. So we dressed ourselves up as pirates and wenches and pillaged the town creating excitment for any up coming festivities.

Halloween 2007; At Worlds End With the previous year being such a success, how could we stop now? With the new movie just released, we updated the costumes and learned our new lines for the biggest Halloween adventure yet. (Video on youtube: Pantoof24) Our audience had grown to over 300 people standing ahead of our house waiting for the show to begin. Each show is roughly seven minute long and is performed on average of 15 times a night. Little kids and adults alike enjoy watching our small yet full of engery production!

Cowichan Bay 150 Years Festival To celebrate British Columbia for 150 years, the small town of Cowichan Bay held a festival. They invited us pirates to pillage the town in honor of the wooden boat show. It was a fun afternoon with tons of pictures taken. We even wound up in the newspaper!

Buccaneer Days Parade Not only were we marching in the Baccaneer Days parade, but we also won first place out of over 50 entertainment gigs.

Tall Ships 2008 The Tall Ships were setting sail for our harbour once more. We couldn't pass up the opportunity | for more pirating adventure! This was also the night of the Grub and Grog party held at the Element Bar. Even the the blazing heat of the day, we toured the ships and had our photos taken by countless locals and tourists! It was a fun day for all of us. Jack and Barbossa continued on to the party that night. | Tall Ships 2008 The Tall Ships were setting sail for our harbour once more.
