FC: Seattle, WA October-November 2011
1: Scott and I spent 6 weeks in Seattle while he under went treatment. We tried to make the most of our time. | Mary and I visited the Museum of Glass, WA State History Museum and Tacoma Art Museum. | The Chihuly glass was amazing. We found it all over Tacoma. We had lunch at The Swiss, and they had his glass there. Also, it was in the courthouse. | Mary came to visit; we dined at the Pink Door, then traveled to Tacoma the next day to visit the museums. | October 17 - Nov. 28 2011
2: The next day we traveled to Ballard, saw the locks in action, ate at Ray's Boat house, went through the garden area around the locks, and wandered through Ballard. Even hit the Golden Gardens Beach area. What a sunny day in Seattle!
5: Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~Albert Camus | They had the most interesting pieces of modern art throughout Ballard. We strolled along the beach at Golden Garden Park.
6: Autumn Leaves Are Falling Down
7: Scott and I drove up to Mt. Rainier. Beautiful day. We went to Paradise and the Reflection Lakes.
8: Reflection Lakes and Narada Falls.
10: Lunch at Coho's, then off to Molbeks. | Aunt Jane is pretty as a picture.
11: Aunt Jane took me to Woodenville and Molbeks. Great Christmas nursery. I also toured around Seattle U. saw the Occupy Seattle group, and wandered through Cal Anderson Park, saw lots of public art, and ate at Puertos. Even toured a church or two. | Steps to learn the tango!
13: Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn. | Mom and Dad came to visit. We went to Pike's Market, Maggiano's for dinner Tues. and then crab at Aunt Jane's on Wed. | So fun to wander through downtown Seattle. | PIKES MARKET
14: It was a beautiful Fall day in Seattle. I loved discovering all the outdoor art pieces that are throughout the city.
15: I wandered through the downtown area, and came across this remembrance garden, in honor of fallen war heroes from Seattle.
16: Fun and Funky Fremont!
17: T | T | The Fremont Troll | A statue of Lenin, left over from the Soviet days.
19: Scott and I drove to Deception Pass. He remembers camping here when he was younger, before they would go out fishing. Great day out!
20: Lunch at CI Shenanigans with Pat Meyers and Kevin Martinez.
21: A stormy, blustery day in Tacoma, but we got to see a bald eagle flying over the sound.
22: Scott was treated at Virginia Mason by Dr. Picozzi and Dr. Badiazamani. 5 1/2 weeks of chemo and radiation. The trilogy machine delivered the radiation. | Treatment often left him cold and tired.
24: Ringing Out Ring this bell 3 times well Its toll to clearly say My treatment is done This course is run and I am on my way!
25: We are done! Ring that bell Baby! | Scott was so happy to be done, unplugged and on our way home!
