1: Ko Samui | Thailand | ARRIVED 21 DEC 2012

2: We finally arrived at the hotel after 3 hours of getting lost and driving around the island. We were rewarded with a buggy ride down the mountain to our own private bungalow.

3: Our first full day in Ko Samui. We explored the beach next to the hotel and swam in the ocean (Gulf of Thailand). Yakov and Riva played coconut baseball and we all went hunting for rocks and seashells.

4: THE ISLANDS After a very bumpy speed boat ride from our hotel we arrived at a small uninhabited inland where we played on the beach, swam in the ocean and Riva climbed the trees.

6: MONKEY ISLAND Mo Ko Ang Thong National Park

8: OCEAN KAYAKING | Our adventure to Anthong National Park included Ocean Kayaking and a traditional Thai lunch on the bean.

10: Emerald Lake | Anthong National Park | ?? DEC 2012

11: Emerald Lake is one of Australia's most famous beaches and among the world's most well-known beaches. The beach is roughly a kilometer long and is located on the east coast of Australia and is a suburb of the city of Sydney.

14: boh put beach | Ko Samui

15: An exciting afternoon in Boh Put (original fisherman village). We swam in the ocean, played on the beach, ate spring rolls from a beach vendor, went shopping in the tourist shops and had a sunset dinner next to the waves. After an exciting day, Riva fell asleep on Yakov's head on the walk back to the car.

17: Namuang Safari Park Elephant and Crocodile Shows

18: ELEPHANT RIDE After a long wait in line we got to ride our first elephant! He was the line leader for a group of elephants going through the jungle, so we spent most of the ride without a trainer with us as he was walking in front making sure everyone followed the right path. At the end he brought Riva to the front of the elephant with him so that she could be an elephant trainer too.

20: Samui Aquarium & Tiger Zoo

21: Sea Lion Show & Bird Show After much anticipation and questions of when it was going to be her turn, Riva was called to the stage to be "Super Girl" and have an Eagle pick its toy up off her arm and steal a hat from her head.

31: We saw an exhilarating show at Sumai Snake Farm, with centipedes, scorpions, cobras, and copper head snakes and at the end we all lined up to hold a python.

36: We arrived for the second leg of our trip in Bangkok on January 3. Upon arrival to our hotel, Riva immediately discovered that she had two elephant presents, there was another wonderful bathtub and a great bed for jumping on! | Bangkok

38: The Thai silk industry was revitalized in the late 1940s by Jim Thompson, an ex-architect, retired US Army officer and one-time spy, when he and a partner started the Thai Silk Company. He invented the jewel tones and dramatic color combinations that Thai silk is now known for. In 1967, Jim Thompson disappeared while on holiday to Malaysia and was never seen again.

55: Wat Phra Kaew (the Temple of the Emerald Buddha) is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand.

56: WAT PHO also known as Temple of the Reclining Buddha is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.

58: Weekend Market | Bangkok

59: Left: Playing on the Sky Train Below: Finally... after weeks of vacation Riva found a playground.

60: Maeklong Train Market A market on the train tracks. When the train comes merchants and shoppers have 3 minutes to move off the tracks after it blows its horn.

62: Damnoen Saduak | Floating Market

64: Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua Tiger Temple, is a Theravada Buddhist temple in western Thailand that was founded in 1994 as a forest temple and sanctuary for wild animals.

66: Tiger Cub Activities

68: MORE ANIMALS! While at Tiger Temple, we fed the dear, petted Ox and saw wild boars.

70: Monkey Temple After the Tiger Temple we visited a small temple nearby where the monkeys gather for food from the Temple. We fed them bananas and candies.
