FC: The Great Outdoors | The Great Smoky Mountains 2012
What a beautiful view! | Our family vacation to The Smoky Mountains July, 2012. We stayed at the Pioneer Cabins and Guest Farm in Townsend, TN.
We enjoyed the cabin so much. We stayed at the Rooster's Perch Cabin.
We walked to Laurel Falls in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 2.5 mile walk
We visited the Tuckaleechee Caverns in Townsend. It was a cool 58 degrees in the caverns. We got to taste fresh stream water. It took 1 hour to tour the caverns. Delanie was a little scared at first but learned to enjoy herself. She did say that was her first and her last Cavern. Maybe it was because when the tour was over the guide told us that they didn't have a generator if the lights went out.
This is the Main House at the Guest Farms.
The Pioneer Cabins and Guest Farm is a very unique place. They have a vegetable Garden and you may pick as many vegetables as you like. The kids also enjoyed a pony ride every morning. The kids really loved the simple life for a week.
 Our Visit to Cades Cove
Cades Cove Loop Road, which is a one way paved lane that skirts the bottoms of the forested mountains which surrounds the fields of the valley floor. The Loop Road takes Smokies vacationers on a historical tour of early pioneer farms, fields, roads and trails, leaving the Smokie's visitor with the feeling that they have witnessed something wonderful and wholesome.
Gavin stood this close to a deer. WOW
 Cades Cove was beautiful
We visit some amazing Water Falls while at the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
 View from our Cabin
We did have a visitor come to our cabin. Yes that is a bear. We spent the whole day at Cades Cove looking for a bear and came home to one going through our trash. It was so cool but scary.
Pictures of the inside of our cabin. | Our cabin was a two bedroom. Very comfortable and perfect for us.
