1: The plan: 6 days 2,746 miles 2 people 1 moving truck & a towed car

5: We are both such geeks, loving historical sites...stopped to check out the town of Jackson, MS.

6: Crossed Old Man River | we made it to the west

7: Mississippi | River

8: 2007 | Traveling through the | Bayou | a | Shreveport, LA Not much more than casinos

9: Welcome to Texas... the state that never seemed to end

10: 4th of July

11: We traveled for 12 hours on Saturday, July 3rd so that we would have plenty of time in Arlington, TX on the Fourth of July. We stopped in Arlington to catch a baseball game - Texas Rangers vs. the Chicago White Sox. And we can't forget about getting lost after the game... | An American day spent eating in American fashion - more TexMex than we could handle and Peanuts and Hot Dogs.

13: West Texas Oil Rigs Windmills Strong Winds Dude Ranches Long Straight Roads Nothing in sight but dirt Monday, July 5th

14: We traveled through New Mexico to Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, July 6th. It was hot and dry.

16: Arizona Diamondbacks vs. ...who do you think? The Chicago Cubs!

18: We just barely missed a 3 hour back-up on the interstate north of Tuscon. But, we made it to Phoenix on Tuesday, July 6th in plenty of time to see the Cubbies!. | Our view from our hotel room. Oh, have I mentioned the greatness of Hampton Inn & Suites?

19: Left Arizona for California - Wednesday, July 7th.

21: After all that driving, eating, picture taking, and random BS facts ;-), we finally made it to California!
