After checking into our hotel, we made our way out to Olympic Stadium. "If you don't have tickets you can't get in." So we took our pictures and headed back. | The Westbury Hotel 22-24 Collingham Place London, UK. | Martin and I arrived at our hotel planning on finding Rene' there waiting for us, but alas and alac, she was no where to be found. We headed back down to the tube and found her there!

First night in London, we stopped by a local pub and got the traditional Fish 'n Chips, complete with mushy peas. We were right outside of Earls Court as the US Mens Volleyball team played Italy. Italy won. We couldn't keep our serves inbounds! | After dinner it was back to the Hotel and to bed by 6pm.

Winds in the east, mist coming in. Like somethin' is brewin' and bout to begin. Can't put me finger on what lies in store. But I fear what's to happen all happened before. - Mary Poppins

Oh to be in England, Now that the Olympics are there, And whoever wakes in England sees some morning unaware, that the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf, while the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough In England - now !!! - Robert Browning

By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show. - Samuel Johnson

Travel does what good novelists also do to the life of everyday, placing it like a picture frame or a gem in its setting, so that the intrinsic qualities are made more clear. Travel does this with the very stuff that everyday life is made of, giving to it the sharp contour and meaning of art. - Freya Stark

May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed Rest, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God Grant May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace andConcord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed Rest, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace and Concord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace andConcord and to us sinners Eternal Life May God grant to the living Grace, to the departed REst, to the church and the world Peace andConcord and to us sinners Eternal Life

There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures. - William Shakespeare

Big Ben and Parliament Westminster Abbey

All this happened before, and it will happen again. But this time it happened in London. It happened on a quiet street in Bloomsbury. That corner house over there is the home of the Darling family. And Peter Pan chose this particular house because there were people there who believed in him. - Mary Poppins | London England United Kingdom Great Britain

 Tower of London

Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things - air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky - all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.

 The Tower Bridge

"The aim, if reached or not, makes great the life: Try to be Shakespeare, leave the rest to fate!" - Robert Browning

The London Eye | What you see and hear depends a good deal on where you are standing; it also depends on what kind of person you are. - C.S. Lewis

On the tube winding our way out to ExCel to my first Olympic event ever. Taekwondo.

The ExCel venue was in a nice neighborhood on the east side of London. We stopped for food as we walked to the arena where Rene's swiss army knife was confiscated.

When we arrived at the Taekwondo arena at ExCel we were in a large room with chairs scattered about and a very large screen up front. No stage or platform area. Chea had Rene' convinced that we weren't actually going to see the fighting first hand. We would just be watching on the screen. She was so pissed off! But this was not so. When it was time we went into a large area where we got to see the quarter finals and the semi finals for both men and woman in two different weight classes. There was a girl and boy from Britain that both won the quarter final round. The London crowd went wild. It was very exciting. The girls, Jade Jones, then went on to win her semi final. We didn't see it, but found out late that she was the finals match for the Gold Metal. Pretty exciting stuff!

Something has changed within me Something is not the same I'm through with playing by the rules Of someone else's game Too late for second-guessing Too late to go back to sleep It's time to trust my instincts Close my eyes: and leap! | Apollo Victoria Theatre Aug. 9, '12 Circle X 11

Our 10K Marathon swimming event took place in Hyde Park in the Serpentine. We found ourselves a place to watch as the gun went off and 24 swimmers dived in embarking on a 6 mile, one hour and forty five minute journey of Olympic proportion. They swam by us 12 times, 6 laps. We watched and waited for the hot Tunisian swimmer to win Gold, Germany to win Silver and Canada, Bronze.
