BC: and in the end, its not about the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.
FC: Randy and Lori's 20th Anniversary
Your invited to attend the New Years Carnival Destiny Cruise. When: 2009 Winter Where: Miami -Bahamas (Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, Nassau) Why: 20th anniversary Room Number: 7-151
With all you can eat buffets all day and 24/7 ice cream, no one goes to bed hungry on this cruise!
While my parents were off having fun and tanning, i was having fun with the new friends i met.
On the carnival cruise there was a teen club called The O2. This is where i met my cruise friends. During the day it had activities for to us to do on the ship. One of these was to go on a picture scavenger hunt. Greg (the club manger) split us up in groups and gave us a list. Here are some of the pictures that we had to take.
While the ship was docked in Miami and on the first day out to sea my mom and dad tried to get their tan on. They enjoyed sitting pool side with a gigantic television and music playing on the LIDO DECK. (picture above). The LIDO Deck included 4 hot tubs, a whirl pool, a water slide, 2 pools, and 3 bars. There was also a tennis court (used as a doge-ball court sometimes), a track, a mini golf course, a sushi bar, a casino, a beautiful auditorium, a spa, a library, a arcade, and many lounges and bars for people to drink and party the night away.
Your invited to attend Destiny's Formal Night! Tonight you and your family will be able to meet the captain and his crew. This is a great change to put on your nicest suit or those painfully expensive heels.
Welcome to Grand Turk...the Bahamanian island that is home to famous drinking spot, magaritaville. No shirt, no shoes, no problem! | While on Grand Turk the strong family just laid out and tanned on the beach while drinking pina colas. (there was also alittle shopping going on)
 Welcome to Grand Turk!
The Strong family shared their dinner table with John Cross and his two daughters, Alicia and Katie. Our table number was 164 and was located in the Lower Galaxy Dining Room. We had the later dinner at 8:15, this way we weren't rushed to get to dinner after being on the island all day.
This is the 2nd cruise Lori and Randy have been on together. The 1st one being 20 years ago
Half Moon Cay is and island that the cruise companies have rented from the Bahamas for their tourists.
On Half Moon Cay Dad taught me how to tack up wind and then we went parasailing!
Every night when our cabin's concierge would "take down the beds" she would leave a towel animal. 1st night= elephant 2nd night= dog 3rd night= stingray 4th night = heart
 Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau is the capital, largest city, and commercial center of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The city has a population of 260,000 , nearly 80 percent of the entire population of The Bahamas. While there is no local government, it is governed directly as an administrative division of the national government. Nassau is considered a historical stronghold of pirates. Nassau was formerly known as Charles Town; it was burned to the ground by the Spanish in 1684, but later rebuilt and renamed Nassau in 1695 in honor of Dutch King William III of England.
Junkanoo is a street parade with music, which occurs in many towns across The Bahamas every Boxing Day (December 26), New Year's Day. The largest Junkanoo parade happens in Nassau, the capital. The word "Junkanoo" derived from an African slave master and trader named, "John Canoe" in the 17th century. These slaves were not allowed much freedom and would hide in the bushes when they had the chance. While in the bushes, they would dance and make music while covered in costumes that they made from various paints that they made and leaves that they found. This festival represented the slave's freedom from slavery.
