S: TUB's Maui Adventure - Thanksgiving 2011
BC: A picture perfect ending to our picture perfect vacation. | Maui No Ka Oi
It's all smiles for The Uding Bunch as we get ready to spend Thanksgiving and Mommy's birthday in Maui. November 18 to 25, 2011
Papa provided superb shuttle service from our house to the new Terminal B at Sacramento International Airport. Let our vacation begin!
Tiana busies herself on the plane with books and her computer. Once in Maui, we were able to rent a JEEP - woo hoo! LOL
Views of and from our gorgeous Ocean Suite at the Sheraton Maui Resort.
Our first friend of the trip - a HUGE praying mantis on the balcony. He hung out with us for the first couple days.
After blowing up the Croc, we headed for the beach to play in the surf.
The Maui Invitational Basketball Championships were happening just as we arrived. FUN!!!
 OUR OWN | Happy Birthday!!!
We were very fortunate to not only have a Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle sighting, but we also had a VERY close encounter with this friendly fella. He was trying to feed on the "lettuce" that was growing on the rocks near the shore, so Daddy helped him out.
Daddy was trying his hardest to catch a crab or any sort of critter while we were in the tide pools at Black Rock. The crabs were too quick, but he did catch a Colobocentrotus Atrata aka sea urchin!
Heading out to Whaler's Village to get tatted in the tropics!
Another little friend came for a visit. This was the tiniest Gecko we've ever seen.
A local artists' craft show at the famous Banyan Tree Park in Lahaina.
After spending a relaxing morning strolling the streets of Lahaina, we got some shave ice and then headed back to the pool.
We ended the evening by watching the Cliff Diving Ceremony at Pu’u Keka’a (aka Black Rock) from our balcony, and then Mommy and Tiana put on a hula show. We woke up the next morning to the most beautiful sunrise.
We headed to Whaler's Village to get some Loco Moco for breakfast and then came back to the hotel for a Lei Making Lesson.
Drums of the Pacific Luau at The Hyatt
Daddy ran into a friend from college that he hasn't seen in YEARS.
After a long day of fun-filled activities, watching a fabulous show at the yummy luau, and running into a friend from the past, Tiana was completely tuckered out and didn't even make it to the bedroom to go to sleep. Now that's a GREAT day!
Daddy takes a leap of faith off Black Rock to make a big splash!
Maui wouldn't be Maui without at least one rainbow sighting.
Friendly little critters joined us by the pool and more stopped by our room. They were Cheetos and Fruit Loops connoisseurs.
Now you see it....now you don't. We had over 16 years of fond memories of Daddy's wedding ring. It is now part of Maui - lost at sea while Croc surfing.
We didn't have a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, but it sure was DELICIOUS!!!!
Some last minute photos of us posing on the balcony, then it's off to the airport to head home. We had the most wonderful vacation in Maui, but there really is "no place like home." Aloha & Mahalo
