BC: When you travel, you see neat stuff and get to buy cool souvenirs. Alan Arnold September 14, 2011

FC: UK 2011

1: Arrived at Victoria Station. Outside on the street, I am right in front of the theater for tonights show and the Park Plaza. Found out Judy and Jade will be a day late. Off for a walk. Victoria Theater and Buckingham Palace.

2: " | Palace gate. Nearby Canada Gate and Queen Victoria Monument

3: Wellington | Wellington Monument with horses on top.

4: Royal Albert Hall with his Monument across the street.

5: Neat porcelain clocks. Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square.... What is going on? Let's celebrate Canada Day in London.

6: The lions love Canada Day. Nothing like a little ball hockey, Molsen Canadian and a Buffalo burger. Judy actually was watching the Aboriginals perform from her layover room in Montreal | l

7: Bring on the Calvary. Lord Nelson approves. Next year the equestrian location for the 2012 Olympics

8: Big Ben at Parliament

9: Westminster Abby. Then off to dinner and the theater by myself. May as well, it was all paid for.

10: After the theater, off to see Buckingham Palace at night.

11: Victoria theater at night. Judy and Jade arrive and off to the Abby... Where the clergy live.

12: Alan at the The Jewel Tower. The Thames and the Big Eye. Gold on the Abby. Tired people.

13: Kipling. Government offices near Downing St. St Paul's Cathedral.

14: Scary statue at St. Paul's. Jade likes the phone booth. Pubs a plenty. The tube goes way down.

15: Leicester Square Mmm...fresh strawberries. The Monument no one wanted to walk up.

16: From the Monument to the New London Bridge...not too exciting .

17: Tower Bridge. The Tower of London is protected by Lions and Tigers.

19: Tower of London

20: Monkeys, Gargoyles, and Knights in shiny armour...big and small.

21: Inside the Tower walls. A small bit of the old Roman wall remains. The "Pickle" is a standout in architecture.

22: On the train to Windsor to see the Castle. But first, some lunch outside the castle walls. Kate didn't stick around to greet us. She's off to Canada.

24: Inside the walls. No pictures allowed inside the castle itself.

26: On the bus to Oxford Circus then fish & chips with mushy peas for dinner.

27: Punting off to Cambridge University and Kings College overseen by Henry VIII.

28: Judy & Jade take in Cambridge, then off to Henry's Church.

29: Inside the Church.

30: Cross the river into York and its Great Cathedral.

31: The Cathedral and honouring Pigs.

32: Almost forgot the Shambles in York.

34: Hadrian's Wall and Jedburgh Abby.

35: Then off to Melrose Abby

36: To Edinburgh and some R & R with witchery.

37: Bobby the Dog's Pub. Edinburgh Castle.

38: Castle Courtyard. The School of Medicine is big here.

39: Inside the wall. This place was never invaded. Wonder why. Meeting the locals.

40: Every Pub has a story to tell. Getting ready for the Tattoo.

41: City of Spires, and Sir Walter Scott's Monument.

42: One last look at the Castle before boarding the Britannia.

43: Jade in control. If the Royals can do it...Alan can do it. 1953 was a good year. Ring a ding!

44: The girls meet a guy. The dining room and the Queen's bedroom...with used bedding.

45: Having dinner with Texans. Gretna Green looks like a good place to get married...AGAIN!

46: The Lake District and Wordsworth's Grasmere.

47: Continuing on to Chester

48: The buildings start looking the same...but beautiful.

49: Lots of Roman stuff...and that nice big clock.

51: Into Wales and the Horseshoe Pass to Llangollen

52: Refreshment time. Next morning to Iron bridge. Twas the first one.

53: You must be Joking. Is this really Stratford -Upon-Avon. Must be, I see Bill Shakespeare`s house. Jade enjoys the Garrick Inn.

54: Swans love it here. Neat back alley`s and waterways.

55: You must be famous if birds poop on your head.. Pubs influencing the theater. In front of the new theater and Shakespeare`s daughters home.

56: Broadway in the Cotswold`s. Unique stone and slate construction.

57: Cardiff Wales. Capital Building, Millennium Stadium and a Pub with the Welsh Coat of Arms.

58: Cardiff Castle. Nice fireplace mantles...and Thor comes here on Thursdays.

59: Lots of Marble and Gold.

60: Marble mantles and stairwells with animals. Great woodwork too.

61: Inside the Castle Walls.

62: Alan performs as the Mad Sheep, while others dine away. Interior castle and city at night.

63: Time for a Roman Bath. Very inviting...NOT!

64: Many relics and baths.

65: Beautiful buildings, gardens, waterways and pigs. Only a few of these bridges with shops on top still exist.

66: STONEHENGE

67: Salisbury with cathedral spire and walled city. Handel wrote his music in the little room at the gate.

68: Back to Buckingham Palace, since some people missed seeing it the first day. We were still able to take in Wicked... again for some of us, but this time high up in the balcony.

69: Scary.... but cool. | How come we couldn`t go!
