1: The very first street cars! | The very first street cars were an improvement of what was called an omnibus, both were pulled by horse, but the street car rolled along special steel rails that were placed in the middle of the streets and could hold more passengers. The first street car was put to use in 1832 along Bowery Street in New York.
2: San Francisco's first cable cars were invented by Andrew Hallidie in 1873.
