FC: Engaged! | Kent & Shannin | May 13, 2011
Our photo-shoot at the Huntington Beach Central Library | This is also where I had my Bridal Shower in March.
Kent was a natural and whispered to me that the photographer was only giving me the instructions because he was already doing everything right! | ...after seeing the pictures I now believe him!
In all fairness, Kent had no idea the photo shoot was scheduled to take two hours. He was a great sport about it and kept his humor enough to amuse me and be entertaining...
I think Kent is beginning to wonder if we are almost finished at this point =) | I chose this location to capture our engagement for it's beauty and because it has always been a favorite of the kids and mine.
The best part was spending the day with Kent. | Our photographer was so sweet and patient, she did a great job of making us feel comfortable and still guiding us in how to pose.
Just a few more months! The final countdown...
I am trying my best not to laugh as Kent stares cross-eyed at me in this picture...
As it turns out, this pose is more difficult than it might appear.
I think these shots turned out so cute, even if Kent was thinking they were silly at the time. | My heels are very high, the ground is very moist and I am standing backwards on an incline... I know Kent won't let me go!
This is one of my favorite pictures of Kent because the lighting really brings out the blue in his eyes!
Okay, this was right about the time Kent discovered we were only half way finished and had another hour to go. We had already taken around 250 pictures. I know how painful this realization must have been for him, but he never complained once!
I'm so happy that Kent was a good sport and made this such a fun day!
I just kept thinking about how soon it would be before we would be saying our vows and moving off to Colorado together. Two short months!
I love the outdoors and natural light. I am so happy Kent liked the idea of us getting married outside as much as I did!
I can tell these are genuine smiles, so I am sure this was after one of the many jokes Kent was cracking during the shoot.
Looking back over all the photos I realize that Kent can not take a bad picture. No fair.
Okay, it is time for me to go change clothes before the sun goes down and we lose our light. Kent is probably thinking this is going to take awhile...he is right!=)
There was a man sitting very still and quiet in the distance. When I noticed him, the photographer assured me he was not in any of our photos...
I really love these last photos we took right before the sun was about to set. They look so surreal, like the pages in a fairytale.
Again... not the easiest pose and one Kent would probably not have chosen to do, but this is one of my favorite pictures... it's so romantic and graceful.
Tired, hungry and a bit chilly, all I can think about is how happy I am and how blessed I feel to be marrying my best friend. | I could barely wait the two weeks to see all of our pictures!
We had a lot of time to gaze into each other's eyes while the sun went down. | Even though we knew our picture was being taken and we were not alone, these shots look so genuine to me... like a moment captured.
After two hours and nearly 500 pictures...
...we are just about finished. Yeah! | ....trying not to sink too far in the mud!
One of several great solo-Kent shots while he patiently waited for me to change clothes!
A beautiful end to a beautiful day!
