BC: So long, Southie!... | Jovan's 1st day of business school! | NYC, here we come!
FC: Jovan & Sena | 7.11.09 Boston, MA
1: To Gong-Gong | With love, Jovan & Sena
2: About Sena (in Jovan's words): | Sena is truly a beautiful person, inside and out. She has the amazing ability to bring joy and light wherever she goes, and it's no exaggeration to say that to know her is to love her. Sena possesses relentless energy, as well as the intelligence and creativity to carry out whatever task she sets her mind to. She's also an independent and adventurous spirit, ready and willing to try new things and embark on new experiences. Most importantly, she has great taste in men. | Other things that you may want to know about her: She loves kids, dogs, and food (not necessarily in that order). She's allergic to apples, strawberries, and mangoes, but not oranges. She's an accomplished baker. She's messy, but cleans up well. She does a creepily accurate John Mayer impression. | Suffice to say I think she's a great catch! | About Jovan (in Sena's words): | Jovan is one of the most genuine people that I know. He is thoughtful, insightful, caring, intelligent and most importantly he laughs at my jokes and weird impressions (even when they aren't funny to anyone else but him). | He's a die hard Celtics fan through and through (no fair weather fan here, folks). He enjoys eating junk food of any kind (salty or sweet, he's not discriminating). He'll try anything once and is always up for an adventure. He is so inspiring to me and continually pushes us to achieve greater things in life. | I can honestly say that without Jovan I would not be the person that I am today. I think I really lucked out.
3: How we met We met at Chinese camp when we were both about 15 or so. It was not love at first sight... ;) But, as we got older, we began to see the appeal in each other, and gradually we formed a mutual friendship which eventually blossomed into a deep love and admiration for one another. | 1.13.09
4: In Jovan's words: I was nervous Sena would sniff out my plans, but thankfully she was too fascinated by the waterfowl to notice me fumbling for the ring. When she started crying I gave myself a mental high-five for a job well done. However, it wasn't all good. Our dinnertime conversation definitely suffered that night, as I felt like I was the third wheel between Sena and her sparkly new friend (the ring). | In Sena's words: This past fall, Jovan took me out to dinner in Beacon Hill for my birthday. We parked and got there early so he suggested that we take a walk around the Boston Gardens (which is where we actually had one of our first dates). It was almost sunset and a saxophonist was playing on a nearby footbridge (totally unplanned!). We sat on a bench by the water and I was busy taking pictures of two swans. When I put my camera down, Jovan was holding the ring right in front of me and asked me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed that all I could say was, "Are you for real? Are you for real?..." and started crying. Jovan finally said, "Would you say yes?" I said yes and continued to cry like a little girl (out of happiness, of course). It was perfect! | Our Engagement September 24, 2008
