The Johnson Family | Grandma & Grandpa Johnson | Parent's | I guess we have always known That a day like this one would come When our children would leave us And begin to build a home of their own. Lord, all you have taught us, we have gladly passed on to them, But one thing we don't know is how to place them back in your arms again. Lord, help us... let go of two That they might become one Just like the Father, Spirit, and Son. Two hearts invisibly bound in love By a vow that will not be undone. | G&G Larson
Prayer | Grandma Kent | The Holtz Family | Grandma & Grandpa Holtz | Now in Your tender care Lord, be all that we cannot be And help us to trust you When we don't see you quickly meeting their needs. For you have provided Since the day you gave our children to us But now, in Your arms Dear Jesus, The time has come for giving them up. The urge is strong to try holding on To the image of two The way that we knew them But now in Your eyes The two will be as one By a vow that will not be undone! | Memorial roses for & Grandpa Kent

Here Comes the Bride | WHO GIVES THIS WOMAN TO BE MARRIED TO THIS MAN?
God Knew That I Needed You I look at you and I see the one God chose for me. What did I do to deserve all I have received? We're like a hand in glove, one heart made from two. God knew that I needed you. You know my heart in a way I'm known by no one else. And who you are, gives me strength beyond myself. In spite of all you see, I know your love is true. God knew that I needed you. When we face the darkest of the nights, I'll reach our for your hand. And I know your love will hold me tight till we see the sun again. For God has given me a taste of Heaven here on earth. Till life is through, I belong with you . My heart will fail and my weaknesses will be uncovered, but love will prevail when we choose to turn to each other. And in the deepest valleys, the Lord will see us through. God knew that I needed, He knew just what I needed, God knew that I needed you.

Homily Given by Pastor Patti Webb Family and friends, Emily & Mitch: we gather today to share in the joy of the love God has given you and to witness as you offer yourselves to one another in the sacred act of marriage. There are no ties, no commitments, no bonds on this earth that are sweeter and more solemn than those you are about to make. While God has shared this wonderful gift of romantic love with the two of you, please be reminded that God, if given the opportunity, will also allow your love to grow and blossom in many more fruitful and enjoyable ways. The marriage of heart, mind and body between a man and a woman is intended by God to last a lifetime. It is expected to grow and flower into a relationship that reflects the image of Jesus Christ and his profound love for his people. So today I want to ask you a question: What do an ear of corn, the color purple, a threefold cord and two pairs of hands have in common? First, the ear of corn...well, that's what first brought you together when you were working on the same street corner. Mitch, you on a project. Emily, you selling Grimes sweet corn. Mitch came over and bought some corn from you. Actually, Mitch didn't really care about the corn, but he used it as his excuse to get to meet you. From that meeting grew love. God joins two people in love, God gives the gifts you need so that your marriage will endure in trust and respect, through laughter and sorrow, in good times and in bad. Think of it like this. God gives us a small seed and from that seed grows a mighty stalk of corn. God gives the rain, the soil, even the ability to engineer stronger stalks. If God does that for corn, think what God can do for your marriage. Now what about the color purple...well, that's obvious...the color scheme for your wedding, a color for royalty, for faithfulness, for prosperity and for responsibility. Two pairs of hands?...Emily, take a look at Mitch's hands. They're strong, yet gentle. Everyone who loves him held those hands and taught him to be the man he is today. These hands reached out for support; to hold on to someone else when he might have been afraid of falling down or failing in some way. These hands have grown in love; to share love; to be kind and gentle, yet strong and firm; to touch your cheek, to wipe away your tears; to hold your hands in love; for comfort, for strength and for hope. These hands will hold your hands when your child is born. These hands will hold your hands in illness to provide comfort and prayer. These hands were first the hands of a son, now a husband. The hands, formed by God are indeed a gift to be treasured by you, Emily. Now, Mitch, please take Emily's hands in yours. Her palms are soft, smooth and gentle. These hands fit well in yours. Like yours, her hands were once tiny. She wrapped them around her father's finger as he looked at her on the day she was born; she held on tight as she learned to stand on her own and then to walk. These hands learned to trust and they learned to be independent. Her family likewise held these to guide her as she became the woman she is today, the woman you fell in love with. These hands will reach out for you in the middle of the night, searching for warmth and comfort. These hands, a daughter's hands, now the hands of a precious wife, a soul mate, and friend may someday be the hands that caress and nurture your children. Now the cord. I ask you to take a hold of each other's hands. Now I am taking this purple cord to bind your hands together. I am using a square knot. Any who have had scout or military training, know that a square knot is the best kind of knot because it will not slip. What is a 'threefold cord'? It is each of you and God together. God is binding you together today. God will hold you together throughout your marriage. Certainly you have the power to unravel this knot. But why would you want to undo what God has done? I am so glad that you have chosen to exchange your vows today in this church, this house of worship. You make your vows before God because you realize that God is so much a part of your lives and will be a part of your marriage. You realize that God will journey with you, will guide you and inspire you. God will give you the strength and will for a marriage of patience, kindness, peace and understanding. The Preacher of Ecclesiastes tells us two are better than one. If one falls, the other is there to lift up that one. If two lie together, they keep each other warm...a threefold cord will not be broken. God intends for your love to never be broken. Gracious God, bless these hands that you bind with your love. Help them continue to build a relationship held together by your grace, rich in caring and devoted to one another. May Emily and Mitch always see their love marked and bound by your mercy. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
 The Homily
I Mitch, take you Emily to be my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward, for as long as we both shall live.
I MITCH TAKE YOU EMILY TO BE MY WIFE, MY PARTNER IN LIFE AND MY ONE TRUE LOVE. I WILL CHERISH OUR UNION AND LOVE YOU MORE EACH DAY THAN I DID THE DAY BEFORE. I WILL TRUST YOU AND RESPECT YOU,LAUGH WITH YOU AND CRY WITH YOU, LOVING YOU FAITHFULLY THROUGH GOOD TIMES AND BAD, REGARDLESS OF THE OBSTACLES WE MAY FACE TOGETHER. I GIVE YOU MY HAND, MY HEART, AND MY LOVE, FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, FOR AS LONG AS WE BOTH SHALL LIVE. | Mitch, I give you this ring as a sign of the covenant we have made today.
So they are no longer two, but one
When God Made You It's always been a mystery to me, How two hearts can come together, And love can last forever. But now that I have found you I believe, That a miracle has come when God sends the perfect one. So gone are all my questions about why, And I've never been so sure of anything in my life. Oh I wonder what God was thinking, when He created you. I wonder if He knew everything I would need, Because He made all my dreams come true. When God made you, He must have been thinking about me. Oh, I promise that wherever you may go, wherever life may lead you, With all my heart I'll be there too. And from this moment on, I want you to know, I'll let nothing come between us, and I will love the ones you love. So gone are all my questions about why. He made the sun, He made the moon, To harmonize a perfect tune, One can't do with out the other they just have to be together. And that is how I know it's true, You're for me and I'm for you, and my world just can't be right Without you in my life. He must have heard every prayer I've been praying He must have knew everything I would need When God made you , He must have been thinking about me.
