THE MARRIAGE OF | Boyet & Julie St. Margaret Mary Church Hilton Garden Inn | June 18, 2011
Words from the Groom's Father. | I would like to welcome Julie to our family. I wish you would enjoy your life with Boyet. By the way, this is the first time I called Boyet, “Boyet”. I usually call him “Spock”. It’s the cast in Star Trek, the first generation. Mr. Spock is the most senior adviser of Captain Kirk. He’s very authoritative, very commanding. Sabi ko kay Boyet, para di sya tatanda, para di lalampa-lampa :). Kaya sabi ko Spock ang tawag ko sa kanya. The story of love of Boyet and Julie is very interesting. Imagine, Julie comes from Davao and Boyet from Marikina City. All the way through 7,000 miles, they met in the United States of America and they have the same profession. They are both engineers, ECE and they work at the same company. Ano yun? T-Mobile? (everyone laughed). Ay hindi kasi sinasabi sa akin. Akala ko amazon :). Ok, it’s AT&T :). Kaya pala ang gagaling ng mga engineer sa AT&T ay dahil puro pinoy ang nandyan :). Across the miles, nagkita sila dito. It is not a coincidence. It is what we call a destiny because Julie and Boyet have a destiny to fulfill. Boyet, you are now married. You are now the man of the house. You must be respectful to Julie because respect carries everything. Have patience, understanding and confidence. Dapat from now on, you too must master the art of saying “YES” even if you mean “No”. You don’t have to go far and wide to look for an example. Just look at me :). Your mother has been married to me for almost 50 years.
To Julie since you are now married to Boyet, you must be also tolerant. You must be understanding and kind. You must say “YES” when you mean “yes” and say “NO” when you mean “no”. Sapagkat kapag sinabi ni Boyet, sa huwebes, sa biyernes, ako maglalaba :)sabihin mo “YES!”. Sapagkat, a man is always happy when he knows that he can assert that he’s the master of the house and he has his wife’s authority to say what he wants to say and to do what he wants to do. You must also exercise what we call the Judo principle of happiness. You know that, you don’t use extra effort. When you’re pushed, you pull. When you’re pulled, you push. That is what we call the Judo principle of happiness. Well, happiness is a very relative term. It depends upon both of you to make your marriage successful. If you have some what we call problems or mistakes in the past, well don’t forget about it. Just leave it behind because in the future it will help you. I think if you have some apprehensions or burdens in the past, you’ll not commit the same mistake again. Sabi nga doon sa amin, baka nakakalimutan nyo mga kaibigan, sa lingo ng mga kanto, “positive thinking bro”positive thinking lang. | Also, Just remember, Julie, that marriage is a contract between two parties. For one party is always right and the other party is always the husband :). Maraming salamat sa inyong pakikinig. Nawa’y naunawaan nyo ang aking sinambit :). Thank you for everything. Sana hindi nyo ako pinasalita, pinakanta nyo na lang ako :) - Mr. Rogelio Legal, Sr. "Happy marriages begin when we marry the ones we love, and they blossom when we love the ones we marry".

The sweetness of sharing a dream made for two is one life's greatest treasures. Wishing you both much happiness and a wonderful life.
"BELIEVE IN HAPPILY EVER AFTER, AND IT WILL COME TRUE"
In behalf of the Barroquillo Family, we are privileged to witness this wedding and I'd like to share the message from Mommy Ditz, Ate Joy's mom. - Joanne “Boyet and Joy, you have now entered the next phase of your life, marriage. The joining together of your life as one and as a couple. Marriage is more than saying “I do”. Marriage is like a precious plant. It needs constant tending for it to grow, flourish and bear fruit to last a lifetime and beyond. You have to know what to do to make your marriage and relationship good. My children, my key to a successful marriage is not finding the right person but loving the person you found in the truest meaning of the word love. This is true love and this is the foundation of a lasting and strong marriage. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage because there maybe pitfalls, trials and temptations along the way. I believe that if everything else fail, telling the truth is always the best option. Boyet and Joy, promise me that you will love and choose each other forever and shower your baby, my grandchild, with love, care and goodness too. Boyet, my son, welcome to the family. Love you both and baby boy”. Love, Mommy Ditz

THE BEST MAN'S TOAST I met Boyet through my lovely wife Jocelyn. The one thing I can say to him is he’s so very helpful. Everytime he visits us in Seattle one thing he always did is finish all my project at home. There was a time when he was working on our garage assembling all my shelves and all my wife’s boxes. One time we went up hiking at Mount Si, it’s a trail hike mountain in Washington. It was a difficult hike up in mountain, but Boyet was so determined to finish it and I was surprised coz it was the first time I went up there and of course with my brother-in-law. I never expected that he was gonna go up with me. I wish for him that he could find somebody that he could spend the rest of his life with. And I can see that Julie really likes my brother-in-law. To Boyet and Julie, wishing you all the best time to come and may God bless you both with good health and long life. We’ll be here for you no matter what. We’re just a phone call away and our door is open for both of you all the time. Congratulations. We love you very much! Let’s make a toast for Boyet and Julie for long life. - Dindo De Torres Cheers!!!!!

I think I’m Boyet’s favorite’s sister :) and he’s my favorite brother. Like my dad, I would like to sing too. Well, with Boyet, I always pray that he will find somebody that I will like and I’m glad,..he did. That’s it. - Maggie | I’m Boyet’s eldest sister. I believe in the inevitability of things, that you can’t avoid things. So in 2008, after 15years of being out of the Philippines. Boyet asked if he could live with us because he found a job in California. And I thought that was weird because we haven’t been together at all when we were growing up because of a huge age difference. After he moved with us, a couple of months later, we bought a house. And so I realized that was why he came over at our house...we needed somebody to move our stuffs :) .
It was inspiring after being married for almost 19 years to see young love blossom right under my nose . I feel like Father Zach also was very inspired with their love story and he has adopted them as his godchildren. Now that you are married, the thing that I could say is just maintain the excitement and the sweet love that you have for each other. May you have many children and long life. - Liza
"THERE IS ONLY ONE HAPPINESS IN LIFE, TO LOVE AND BE LOVED."
BEST FRIENDS | I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER
 DINNER IS SERVED!
THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!
To the Newlyweds, The celebration today is a huge departure from the time I met Julie a year ago. A Davaonian lost in Pleasanton? but not in translation. Determined to charter new shores and start afresh, Julie quickly charmed our hearts with delight, warm friendship and her scrumptious fruit salad. My fond trait of her is how a svelte figure could gobble plate after plate after plate. But at that time, nothing could stop her, yes, she can eat, single and ok with it. Mmmmmm. I don’t know much about Boyet. He looks like a man in search of love and through a reliable source, kuripot daw. Unmistakingly he was a man with a purpose, he did not wait that long to bring the woman of his dreams to where we are today. Today is a big day. It’s a mark of new beginnings and an end to a life of what once was. As a life status, you are now called married, and will be constantly reminded on every document that you put your name on, from your passport, driver’s license, gym membership and even on a Costco card. Your introductions will now also be changed to as, my wife, my husband, my family. The moment you crossed the path from being single few hours ago to officially called married, you have evoked an astronomical explosion or perhaps a convergence of energy. You no longer stand alone. Congratulations!!!! Enjoy your years of happiness - Lizardo Family
