S: Kate & Andy - August 6, 2010

BC: Words cannot begin to describe the immense love and gratitude we have to our parents, family members, and friends for all the planning and support that brought us to this day of celebration. Thanks to being surrounded by so many enduring unions, we know what love, faith, and marriage really stand for. We feel so blessed to have the presence of our family and friends today, especially the ones that traveled from afar. Our love extends to those who are not able to be with us today, yet have touched our lives in so many special ways.

FC: Kate & Andy - August 6, 2010

2: A chance meeting?

4: It seems like just yesterday that Kate and Andy met through their mutual friend, Heidi (Graham) Eichenberger. Kate had moved back home to Albany in Sept. 2008 after graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York and was looking for full-time employment. Just for fun, she contacted a long-time family friend and her former deaf & hard of hearing teacher (Heidi) about tagging along for a day on her job. After discovering that one of her students was absent that day, Heidi asked Kate if she’d like to drop in at Taft High School in Lincoln City to pass some time and meet her friend-a hard of hearing band teacher. Heidi took Kate into Taft HS for a quick drop-in visit during a break in between classes. The formal introduction was made in Andy’s band room, and took all of three minutes! No sparks were flying at this pointKate thought, “I probably won’t see him again.” Little did she know how wrong she was! A few days (or weeks?) went by, and Heidi told Kate that Andy had asked her if he could get Kate’s AOL instant messenger screenname. Kate said she was ok with this, so screennames were exchanged, and K & A started up some casual online conversations. These conversations were only periodic and somewhat briefKate was thinking, “No one can have too many friends right?” Time went by with still no sparks flying. In Feb. 2009, Kate was over at the coast visiting some family friends, so she sent a text message to Andy about dropping in to say “hi.” More time went by after this visit with infrequent online conversations Then, May came around and the online conversations really launched after K & A discovered how often they were both online at the same time. Conversations lasted for several hours at a time most nights and K & A realized how much they thought alike and enjoyed many of the same things. It wasn’t until this point that Kate really started to think, “Wow, I think I like this guy!” and realized she wanted him to stick around. Official dating started in June 2009 and Kate quickly found out that dating a teacher with summers off was a definite advantage! This is the story that has been written so far, and K & A eagerly await more good times together with no shortage of conversations (in person that is!)

37: Our wedding day has finally come...

38: Wowhow the time flies! It seems like just yesterday that Kate and Andy met through their mutual friend, Heidi (Graham) Eichenberger. Kate had moved back home in Sept. 2008 after graduating from a one-year master’s program at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York and was looking for full-time employment with plenty of “free time” in between. Kate said she was game, so Heidi took her into Taft HS for a quick drop-in visit during a break in between classes. The formal introduction was made in Andy’s band room, and took all of three minutes! No sparks were flying at this pointKate thought, “Ok, nice introduction there, but probably won’t see him again.” Little did she know how wrong she was!
