S: Coach Schreiber - Coaching Through the Years
BC: For a coach who saw more in me, More than I thought I could ever be, Who taught me to discipline This mind and the body I’m in, Who raised expectations and dreams, Beyond just an athlete’s schemes, Beyond normal endurance, Beyond myself, and ever since, I’m a greater man for it, Because you taught me not to quit. | Teamwork | Integrity | Leadership | Respect | Hard work | Dedication

18: WE ALL
19: THANK YOU
20: Chad was a very devoted coach. Playing volleyball at Lakeland was one of the best decisions I have made as an athlete. I really had no idea the ability/talent I had within myself until I came to Lakeland. Chad continuously pushed me to be a better athlete. When I look back at the four years I was at Lakeland, my greatest memories and friendships were formed during volleyball. Chad, thank you for all you did for me. It was because of you, that I reached my full potential as an athlete. - Heather Heberlein (02-05) | Chad Schreiber is the best coach I have ever had. He gave me the opportunity to play on a great team when I didn't consider myself worthy of playing in college. He taught me to believe in my abilities and in my teammates. I appreciate everything that he did for my family and I over the course of my collegiate career. I not only consider him a great coach, but a great friend. - Perry Ringfelt (08-10) | Although it's been too long since I've last talked with Chad, I can honestly say he is one of my truest friends. His ultra-confidence in his team's (and his own) ability to win is one of my favorite 'Chad traits'. As a member of the first Lakeland Men's volleyball team this meant Chad believing a team with 5 foot nothing outsides, a soccer goalie playing middle-hitter, and two "English challenged" starters could beat some of the top ranked club teams in the nation. This confidence did lead to some unexpected wins, although not unexpected to Chad I'm sure. His confidence combined with his commitment to teaching the game gave kids like my brother and I the chance to play in the 1996 WVC DII finals. Since 1996 he has continually improved Lakeland's talent, it's just too bad he has not improved his hair or taste in music. Plus, he let me be the student assistant coach, giving me the pick of the girls team and landing me my wife. - Pat Paasch (96-00) | Chad convinced me to go to school in a corn field :) Chad was playful while pushing us to be successful. He has a passion for winning and gave us the opportunities to be a great team playing good competition and experiencing way more than just college volleyball. Chad helped me to grow and tweek my skills to become the player I am today. - Heidi Kramer (05-08)
21: Over the past couple years, Chad has been one of the most influential people in my life. From the very beginning, with his ever so clever selling point to get me to play at Lakeland to the present day, growing from his player to his friend, I feel so blessed to have him in my life. Chad has been so much more than just a coach to me: he has been a big brother, a mentor, a friend, and a role model. The passion and enthusiasm that he has for the game is electric. It has been a pleasure to learn and grow from him. - Brittanie Paulus (06-09) | Chad is one of the most influential people in my life. He gave me the opportunity to play the sport I love and taught me so much about the game. He changed my life by giving me the chance to change professions and made me into the educator and coach that I am today. He has been an advisor to me through all of the ups and downs of my life. And he has been an amazing friend with whom I love spending time. I am blessed to have met Chad and I appreciate all that he has done for me. - Jacob Helgeson (98-01) | Chad is one of the most competitive people I have ever met. Although winning was always our goal, he taught me to never let the outcome of a game, determine the outcome of my life. He is an amazing coach and friend and I am privileged to know him. - Matt Martin (04-08) | Chad is one of the biggest reasons I attended Lakeland College. It was not solely for the volleyball program but for the academic expectations set in place for the players on his team. His goal was to develop everyone as a person and a player. During my time at Lakeland I grew as a person as well as a player. He was there for me through many tough times not only as a coach but as a friend. Chad personally challenged me because he always knew I could be better. For all of these things and many more, I thank you. - Dan Judkins (09-10)
