S: St. John the Baptist ool ~ 2008 - 2010 ~ The Last Years
1: 2008-2009 School Year This year we welcomed 2 new teachers; Miss MeLinda Arkfeld and Miss Savannah Seamann. We also welcomed a new Kindergarten student, Marissa. Paige, Cole, and Hanna were the 3rd graders. Shantel and Devin were in 4th grade and Scott, Chase, Seth , Abbey, and Terri were the 5th graders.
2: All of the St. Johns students went to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. We went to an IMAX movie we also stayed overnight.It was the best field trip ever. We saw plenty of animals. We got VIP pass to see the animals at night. We wish we could do it again!
3: For a field trip we went to the Seamann Dairy Farm. We got to milk a cow and feel how it is to put your finger in a milker.We all had lots of fun. We learned even more about cows.
4: Native American Day | This is our Native American project. We were in charge of the fire, hunting, and some of us had to make the food.
5: this is our 100th day | We had to do a 100 jumping-jacks, we ate 100 pieces of candy, and we did push ups for 100 seconds
6: We went to church first thing in the morning with everyone. | Then we had breakfast, and played some games. Our favorite was Charades. | Parents Day
7: During the 2009 spring concert we had lots of fun. We sang lots of fun songs. We were able to choose our own songs that we liked. We also got to do a couple religious skits, and the McDonals rap. | Spring Concert
8: The Children's Museum was very fun. We got to explore all sorts of cool things. We got to explore all three levels of it! | Memorial Stadium was awesome. We got to go on the field and explore behind the scenes. We even got to touch the lucky horse shoe. We also went the capital.
9: Kindergarten Graduation | The whole school sang when Marissa Preister graduated. | The teachers Miss Arkfeld and Miss Seamann and Marissa's parents Scott and Kay
10: We tried to hatch chickens, but only three of them hatched. We had to turn the eggs everyday! | For Chinese New Year we ate Chinese food. | We got to learn how to play football with Jake. Miss Arkfeld's brother.
11: School year of 2009-2010 started off much the same as the year before. No one new, everyone just went up a grade. The one change for this year was Miss Arkfeld taught Social Studies and Language Arts, while Miss Seamann taught Math and Science. Marissa was the only 1st grader of the year. 4th graders were Paige, Cole, and Hanna. Shantel and Devin were 5th graders. The 6th graders were Scott, Chase, Seth, Abbey, and Terri.

13: Lots of butterflies! We got to find monarch eggs on milk weed, then raise them all the way to a butterfly. Everyone said when they held the butterfly that it tickles when it crawled on them. They escaped once or twice. One escaped and made a cocoon under Miss Seamann's chair. It took some time to find it. We tagged them and let them go.
14: The Christmas program was fun. it was about Scrooge who a rich girl who didn't care about anyone else. Lots of spirits came to teach her to love others. Tina was a sick girl she helped too, and she went back to the time Jesus was born. God Bless us Everyone!
15: For CSW we got to do another lock in. This was our overnight activities that is why we were in our pajamas. We got to play with Legos and build what ever we wanted.We also watched a movie to help us fall a sleep. It was a very fun time. For our 100th day of school we did a lot of sorting activities with 100 balloons. | Catholic Schools Week/100th Day Activities
16: These days were fun. We got to eat breakfast with our families, make photo frames, take fun pictures and then we played "Are You Smarter Than a St. John the Baptist Student". It was a lot of fun, we beat our Grandparents, and found out our parents are really smart! | Grandparents and Parents Day
17: We all got to choose our own "class songs" for the last time being together, and our show had the theme of moving on and living our dreams. | Our Final Spring Concert featuring Petersburg's very own star Justin Temme! | We also displayed all our Art Projects that we made through the year.
18: For our last field grip we went to Covenant Cedars Bible Camp and got to spend the night. We learned things like how to use maps, compasses, GPS, work together through the challenge course, how to fix each other in the first aide class, and our favorites was the rock climbing and zip-line. The next day we spent some time at the Edgerton Science Museum in Aurora.
19: May 14, 2010 was our 6th grade graduation and last day for all at St. John's School Congratulations Terri Seier Abbey Seier Seth Schumacher Chase Preister Scott Ketteler Friends Forever
