8: As every member knows, one of Phi Theta Kappa's most important goals is to develop leadership skills in individuals. However, personal growth can sometimes be painful and difficult, like a cleansing fire to a vast forest. Alpha Mu Chi, like other chapters, has overcome its share of obstacles and weathered times of turmoil. Our journey in many ways brings to mind the arduous life of Emperor Penguins, stalwart creatures that thrive in the most intense situations. Through diligent effort on the part of the members, new life has been breathed into a dying chapter. Last year, Alpha Mu Chi achieved Five-Star Status for the first time in its twenty-six year history. This trip has taken us through blizzards and icy waves. It wasn't always easy, but we of Alpha Mu Chi agree that we're glad we have made the journey to the top of this glacier because we wouldn't trade anything for the view. | Preamble | Preamble 8
