Here's who we're looking for right now: Front End Web Developer | Ruby on Rails Ninja / Back-End Developer | User Interface Designer Front End Web Developer Description: Mixbook (www.mixbook.com) is a well-funded San Jose, CA startup that has grown to over 1 million users (and 2 million Mixbooks created) with a team of less than 10 employees. The growth is accelerating, and we are hiring a front end web developer to own the entire front end for Mixbook.com and Mixbook’s applications on social networks (Facebook, MySpace, Hi5). This position will be tough, yet extremely rewarding. You will own the entire front-end development of a site used by millions of people. Your Role: Work directly with the founders to manage the entire front-end of Mixbook.com. Build out new Mixbook page designs and features. Own all front-end development work for social platforms: Facebook, Hi5, MySpace, Bebo, etc Design and manage the user activation and conversion processes on Mixbook.com. Criteria: Passion for building a great consumer product that everyone will love and use - your friends, family and relatives will be in awe. Amazing at Javascript, CSS, and HTML. If Chuck Norris was a front-end developer, he would tremble in your presence. Metrics focused – you check Google Analytics more then you read your email. Basic Knowledge of Ruby on Rails a big plus. This position will be tough, yet extremely rewarding. You will own the entire back-end development of a platform used by millions of people. Your Role: Architect and build the Mixbook Platform – API Specification and Implementation Own Mixbook’s services architecture – work directly with the co-author of RubyAMF. Database architecture and scalability. Deployment for Mixbook.com and various social networking applications. This position will be tough, yet extremely rewarding. Your Role: Work directly with the founding team to design the next version of Mixbook.com. Build out new Mixbook page designs and features. Design and manage the user activation and conversion processes on Mixbook.com. Criteria: Passion for building a great consumer product that everyone will love and use - your friends, family and relatives will be in awe. 3+ years experience working on large consumer-facing web applications as a UI designer. VERY STRONG knowledge of Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A strong, clean visual design sense. Experience designing for Adobe Flex applications is a big plus. Experience with end-user usability testing is a plus. Strong communication skills - if you have a problem with something, you speak up. Thrive on working with A-players.
