8: How We Learn Social Literacy | Social literacy comes easy for some as "learning is socially mediated." Social literacy is learned everyday through interactions with others in ones environment. We observe social interactions in our daily lives and how we should act appropriately during each situation. Since we can actually SEE and NOTICE social literacy without interaction, we can mimic and repeat the behavior of others. These can be learned from peers, parents, teachers, etc. The more experienced socially literate people scaffold their techniques and online etiquette to help educate others.

14: Why is Social Literacy Important? | As we advance in technology and become more technologically savvy, our means of communication are changing. Due to this, we are communicating less and less with one another face-to-face. Therefore we need to learn what is socially accepted and remember "rules of engagement."

15: As our means of communication are continuing to change, we need to know how to properly communicate whether this communication is through traditional means of reading and writing or through virtual communication.
