10: I have created this 5 day eating plan taking in consideration of the dietary guidelines for children and adolescents in Australia. I have tried to ensure that the child receives the required nutrients but as we all know, this is not always possible.
12: As per the dietary guidelines of 7 fruit and vegetable (2 fruits and 5 vegetables) I have planned for the teenager to teat at least one piece of fruit per day to school as this plan is based on a Monday to Friday. So the teenager would bring a piece of fruit and a little snack that would be NUT FREE of course! some examples can be seen on the opposite page.
14: turkey casserole | Ingredients 2 cups soy beverage 1 cup mushrooms, canned or fresh 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni 2 cups cooked turkey, diced 1 cup peas 1/4 cup onion, chopped salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup breadcrumbs 2 T. milk-free margarine, softened | method Preheat oven to 350. Grease 2-quart casserole dish; set aside. In blender, combine soy beverage and mushrooms. Puree and set aside. Add macaroni, turkey, peas, onion, and salt and pepper to prepared casserole dish. Stir in soy beverage mixture, mixing well. Cover and bake 50 minutes; remove casserole from oven. In small bowl, combine breadcrumbs and margarine, and sprinkle mixture over top of casserole. 15: Work plan for turkey casserole 6:00 - preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease 2 quart casserole dish and gather all equipment and utensils 6:05 - blend soy beverage and mushrooms and set aside. 6:10 - add macaroni, turkey, peas, onion and salt and pepper to casserole dish. stir soy beverage mixture and mushrooms and mix well 6:15 - put into oven for 50 minutes. combine breadcrumbs and margarine and set aside 7:00- combine breadcrumbs and margarine 7:05 - sprinkle breadcrumb mixture on top of the casserole. return to oven and cook for 10 minutes more 7:15 - serve
