Let rise until double double Filling - 1 C. packed Brown Sugar 1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon 1 1/2 Tbsp Melted Butter Icing - 1/4 C. Cream Cheese 3 Tbsp Milk 1 1/2 C. Powdered Sugar Roll out dough onto lightly floured surface, fill with mixed filling. Roll into tight cylinder and cut 1 1/2 inch rolls, placing them in greased backing dish. | 350 degrees | 30 min. | 12

Chopped Green Pepper 2 C. Chopped Celery 2 Cup Chopped Pimento 3 Hard Cooked Eggs, Chopped 2 C. Milnot 5 Tbsp Vinegar 2 Tbsp Salt 2 Tbsp Sugar 1 Tsp Prepared Mustard Pepper, if desired Place first 6 ingredients in a lard bowl, blend remaining ingredients thoroughly then chill. | Women of the Shore Family
6: Slice 7 pounds of medium-sized cucumbers 1/4 inch thick; or cut into finger-length strips, removing seeds, if you wish. Then cover the slices or strips with a solution of 2 cups slaked line in 2 gallons of water. Soak 24 hours. Get slaked lime from your lumber dealer. Next rinse pickles well and cover with fresh water, Soak 3 hours longer. Drain and cover with this mixture: 2 quarts Vinegar 4 1/2 lbs White Sugar 1 Tbsp Salt 1 Tsp Celery Seeds 1 Tsp Whole Cloves 1 Tsp Mixed Pickling Spices Soak pickles overnight, Then boil 40 minutes, Pack in sterilized jars and seal. | Sweet Crisp Pickles
9: "There is no love sincerer than the love of food." ~George Bernard Shaw | Allene Shore | Women of the Shore Family | Sweet Slaw 1 Head of Shredded Cabbage Green Pepper - Cut Fine Red Pepper - If you have it 3 Carrots - Graded 1 Tsp Salt 1 Tsp Mustard Seed 1 Tsp Celery Seed Pack ingredients in jar or covered container and pour the following mixture over it: 1 C. Vinegar and 1 C. Sugar
10: Southern Turkey Dressing 1 C. butter or margarine 1 1/4 C. Chopped Celery 5 Tbsp Minced Onion 1 Tbsp Poultry Seasoning 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/2 Tsp Pepper 8 C. Biscuits or Bread Pieces 8 C. Corn Bread Pieces 2 Eggs lightly beaten 4 Chicken Bouillon Cubes 1 1/2 or 2 C. Water of Broth | In skillet, add celery and onions. Cook until well done. Sprinkle poultry seasoning, salt, & pepper over bread, add celery & onions. Add 2 lightly beaten eggs and additional bouillon cubes in water to make the broth. Pour broth over bread and mix. Bake 40 minutes at 300 degrees.
11: Allene Shore | Women of the Shore Family | Indian Corn Bread 1 can Cream Corn 2 Eggs - beaten 1 C. Corn Meal 1/2 C. or more Flour 3/4 Tsp Salt 1Tbsp Sugar 1 Tsp Baking Powder 1 Tsp Baking Soda Mix as you would corn bread and fry like pan cakes in bacon grease. Electric skillet best to use.
12: Bread Pudding | 2 C. Milk 4 Tbsp Butter 2 Eggs 1/2 C. Sugar 1/4 Tsp Salt 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon 3 C. Soft Bread Cubes (6 slices) Scald milk, add butter, beat eggs slightly in bowl, stir in milk mixture, sugar, salt and cinnamon. Pour over bread crumbs in 1 1/2 quart backing dish, stir gently. Place in pan of hot water. Test by inserting knife 1 inch from edge where it comes out clean.
15: Casserole Italiano | 1 lb. Ground Beef 1/3 C. Chopped Onion 1 medium clove Garlic, minced 1/2 tsp Oregano 1/2 Tsp Salt 1 can Campbell's Tomato Soup 1/3 C. Water 2 cups Cooked Wide Noodles 1 cup Shredded Process Cheese In skillet, brown beef with onion, garlic, and seasonings; stir to separate meat. Combine in 1 1/2 quart casserole with soup, water, and noodles. Place cheese around edge of casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Provides 4 servings.
17: Sugar Cookies | 1 C. Shortening 2 C. Sugar 2 Eggs 1 Tsp Vanilla 4 C. Flour 1 Tsp Baking Soda & Salt 2 Tsp Baking Powder 1 Cup Milk Mix ingredients in bowl. Scoop out teaspoon of dough and roll into a ball. Place ball of dough on baking sheet and flatten. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-12 minutes. Frosting 4 Tbsp Flour 1 1/2 C. Milk 1/2 C. Butter 1/2 C. Crisco 3/4 C. Sugar Cook flour and milk until thick as paste. Stir all the time and then cool. Cream butter and shortening in a bowl. Add sugar, beating until light and fluffy (looks like whipped cream). Add paste mixture gradually, beating after each addition 2 Tsp vanilla.
19: Black Magic Cake | 1 3/4 C. Flour 2 C. Sugar 3/4 C. Cocoa 2 Tsp Baking Soda 1 Tsp Baking Powder 1 Tsp Salt 2 Eggs 1 C. Coffee 1 Tsp Vanilla 1 C. Buttermilk 1/2 C. Vegetable Oil Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt. Add eggs, coffee, buttermilk, vegetable oil and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Icing 2 C. Sugar 2 Tbsp Cocoa 1/2 C. Butter 1/2 C. Milnot 1 Tsp Vanilla Mix all icing ingredients in a 2-quart saucepan. Heat over medium to medium-high until it comes to a boil. Allow to boil for 1 minute. Removed from heat and place pan in sink filled with 2-3 inches of cold water. Beat with a wire whisk until lukewarm. Spread on cooled cake.
21: Plain Cake | 2 C. Flour 1 1/2 C. Sugar Salt & Flavoring 3 Tsp Baking Powder 1/2 C. Butter 2 Eggs 1 C. Milk Combine ingredients in bowl and pout into greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Fluffy Frosting 3/4 C. Sugar 1/4 C. Kairo Syrup 2 Egg Whites 2 Tsp Water 1/4 Tsp Cream of Tartar Combine ingredients in pan and cook over boiling water beating all the time until stands in peakes.
23: Pecan Pie | 3 Eggs 2/3 C. Sugar 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/2 C. Melted Butter 1 C. Corn Syrup 1 C. Pecans Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat eggs, sugar, salt, butter, & syrup. Cut 1/2 cup pecans and leave other halves on top. Bake 40-50 minutes. Pie Crust 3 C. Flour 1 1/4 C. Crisco 1 Tsp Salt 1 Egg 5 1/2 Tbsp Cold Water 1 Tsp Vinegar Work flour and salt in Crisco until like meal. Beat egg, add water and vinegar. Makes four 1-crust pies or two 2-crust pies.
24: Best Meatloaf 1 can Campbell's tomato soup 2 lbs. Ground Beef 1/2 C. Bread Crumbs 1/3 C. Onions chopped 1 Egg beaten 1 Tsp Salt 2-4 Tbsp Water Mix 1/2 cup soup, beef, bread, onions, egg, and salt. Shape loaf (8x4) & place in shallow baking pan. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour. Blend remaining soups, water, and 2-3 Tbsp droppings for gravy.
25: Name | Bierrocks | 1 lb. Ground Beef 3 C. Chopped Cabbage 1 onion 1 Tsp Salt & Pepper 1 C. Milk 1 pkg. Yeast 1/4 C. Sugar 3 C. Flour 2 Eggs 1/4 C. Margarine melted Scald milk. When lukewarm, add yeast, sugar and 1/2 of the flour. When bubbly (a few minutes), add salt, eggs, margarine and remaining flour. Knead well. Let rise until double (about 1 hr). While dough is rising, brown ground beef; drain. Add chopped cabbage and onion. Simmer 20 minutes, watching carefully so as not to scorch. Knead dough once double. Add 1 cup flour and knead 5 minutes.Roll into 1/4 inch thick and cut into squares. Slightly stretch out dough square and place 2 Tbsp ground beef mixture in center. Fold over edges and pinch together. Dip top of Bierrock in melted butter and place pinched side down into butter 9x13 pan. Let rise 20 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until Bierrocks are light brown on top.
