2: Mama Benson's | Italian Wedding Soup | 16 cups water, 2 boneless chicken breasts, i bunch kale (or escarole or spinach), 5-6 chicken bullion cubes to taste, i cup pustina, 12-15 meatballs, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese 1. Boil chicken in water, clean and cook kale 2. cut both into pieces and add to soup along with meatballs, pustina and bullion, mix eggs and parmesan, drizzle into boiling soup | 20 min | 10

4: Abby & Mike's Mint Lemonade | * 1/4 cup sugar for simple syrup * Ice cubes * 1 2/3 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice * 2 tablespoons julienned mint, plus leaves for garnish * 1 lemon, sliced 1/4-inch thick, plus more for garnish serves 4-6 1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1/4 cup water. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat. Let stand until completely cool. 2. In a large pitcher half-filled with ice, add 2 cups water, lemon juice, simple syrup, mint, and lemon slices. Stir to combine. Serve over ice. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices. (Sometimes I leave out the mint and put in pureed strawberries for strawberry lemonade)

8: 4 ripe, Avocados, pitted and peeled 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 clove garlic, crushed 1 tomato, finely chopped 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1/8 tsp ground cumin 3 dashes hot pepper sauce Tortilla chips Mash avocado with lemon juice and garlic mix in remaining ingredients and salt to taste enjoy with tortilla chips! | Steve & Jill's Gaucamole
11: Sue's Salsa | 8 cups tomatoes (Romas work best), peeled, chopped, drained 2 1/2 cups onions, chopped 1 1/2 cups green peppers, chopped (can use some banana peppers too) 1 cup jalapeno peppers (optional) 6 cloves garlic, minced 2tsp cumin (for hot, less mild) or red pepper or cayenne (1/2 tsp red pepper for a pretty mild salsa) 2 tsp black pepper 1/8 cup canning salt 1/3 cup sugar (or less) 1/3 cup vinegar 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce 1 (12 oz) can tomato paste To prepare tomatoes, submerge whole tomatoes in boiling water and allow to cook for a few minutes, until the skins crack. Transfer to a cold water basin and allow to cool until you can handle them, then peel, chop and drain. Mix all ingredients together, bring to a slow boil and cook for 10 minutes. Pack into jars and seal by placing jars in a hot water bath for 10 minutes Yields 7 Pints
13: If you really want to make a friend, go to someone's house and eat with him... the people who give you their food give you their heart. - Cesar Chavez | Grandma Rawlins | Kosher Pickles | 20-25 dill sized cucumbers, 1/8 t powdered alum, 1 clove garlic, 2 heads fresh dill, 1 quart vinegar, 1/2 c salt or pickling salt, 3 quarts water, grape leaves Wash cucumbers, let stand overnight. Pack in jars. To each quart add alum, garlic and dill Combine vinegar, salt and water. Let boil. Place grape leaf in each jar. Fill with liquid mixture and seal.
14: Kathy’s Party Cheese Straws package (15 oz) frozen puff pastry dough 1 egg white 1 Tbsp water cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese | 1. Preheat oven to 400F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Allow frozen puff pastry dough to thaw 15-20 minutes. Unroll puff pastry sheet onto lightly floured work surface. 2. Divide pastry sheet into 3 strips along the fold lines. Beat egg white and water in a shallow dish. Sprinkle Parmesan on another work surface. 3. Dip each pastry strip in the egg mixture to coat both sides and then press both sides of each strip onto the Parmesan to coat as thickly as possible. 4. Cut each strip crosswise with a knife into inch strips and place inch apart on the prepared sheets. 5. Bake until golden and crisp, 8-10 minutes. Slide the parchment paper with straws onto cooling rack

Tolkien | Kathy Rentz | Kathy's White Pizza Dip | 1 envelope Lipton Recipe Secrets Savory Herb with Garlic Soup Mix 1 container (8oz) sour cream 1 cup (8oz) ricotta cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (approx. 4 oz) cup chopped pepperoni (optional) Preheat oven to 350F. In 1-quart casserole, combine soup mix, sour cream, ricotta cheese, cup mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Sprinkle with remaining cup mozzarella cheese. Bake uncovered 30 minutes or until heated through. Serve with bread, crackers or party cheese straws. | 350 | 40 min | 8
16: Cranberry Jalapeño Relish | 1/2 cup Cranberries 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup 1/4 cup bourbon 1/2 a vanilla bean 1 jalapeño, chopped (with seeds for hot) a splash of orange juice Combine ingredients in a medium saucepan. While stirring, bring the mixture to a boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for approximately 5 minutes, or until most of the cranberrries have burst. Remove from heat to cool. When the vanilla bean is cool enough to handle, split it in half and scrape the seeds into the sauce. Stir until distributed throughout the sauce. Discard the remaining hull.
19: Faligones | 6 potatoes 1 medium onion 1 medium zucchini 1 medium green pepper 1-2 hot peppers 1 egg 1 Tablespoon parsley 1/4 cup parmesan cheese oil salt and pepper to taste Slice potatoes, onion, zucchini and peppers Mix with all remaining ingredients Fold into pocket of dough and crimp edges with a fork, cut slits in top
21: Gob Cake | mix 1 chocolate cake mix as directed on the box Add: 1 package of instant chocolate pudding, 2 eggs, a1/4 cup Criso Mix 5 minutes on medium speed Line 2 equal sized cookie sheets with waxed paper Pour 1/2 batter on each cookie sheet Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes, until done While cake cooks mix filling Filling 2 egg whites - beat until stiff - Then add 2 cups powdered sugar Mix then add 3/4 cups hot canned (evaporated milk Beat to dissolve the sugar mixture Add 3/4 cup margarine, 3/4 cup Crisco and 1 tablespoon vanilla beat until smooth and creamy - about 9 minutes store in a cool place
22: Grandma Peggy’s | Peanutbutter Fudge | In a 3 to 4 quart saucepan, put: 2 cups granulated sugar 2 tablespoons flour Stir to mix together then add: 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons margarine or butter Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a rolling boil. Lower heat and cook to soft ball stage, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add: 1 cup peanut butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla Stir in, then beat with your spoon. Pour into buttered dish (7x10 or square or round) Let cool. and Enjoy!
24: Monster Cookies 6 eggs, 1 lb brown sugar, 2 cups white sugar, 1 tsp Karo syrup, 4 tsp baking soda, lb butter, 1 lbs peanut butter, 9 cups oatmeal, 1/2 lb choc chips 1/2 lb m&m’s Mix in order given. Drop on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Let set a couple of minutes after baking before removing from cookie sheet. (add raisins & nuts if desired) makes 120 cookies
25: Name | Ribbon of Chocolate Pie | 1 pie crust 1 cup chocolate chips 1 package instant vanilla pudding (5.1oz) 1 cup milk 4 oz cream cheese, softened 3/4 cup sour cream 4 oz cool whip Cover bottom of pie crust with chocolate chips, bake, cool completely. Add th remaining ingredients, beat until combined, spread over cooled crust, top with fruit and refridgerate
