1: Guntersville Elementary School ABC Book | Students in the after school Extreme Adventure Class synergized to make this book all about the ABCs at Guntersville Elementary School. | Extreme Adventures Class February 2011

2: A is for alphabet. We learn all the letters and sounds of the alphabet at GES. A is for Accelerated Reader. It is a website you can go to take an test on a book you have read. A is for addition. It is a kind of math where you put numbers together. | A | Accelerated Reader | Alphabet | Addition

3: The "B" Teachers in 2nd Grade | B is for Brazelton, Burton, Buckelew, and Baumgartel. There are four 2nd Grade teachers that have "B" names. B is for Mrs. Beam. She is our PE teacher. B is for books. We read LOTS and LOTS of books at GES! | B | Mrs. Beam bouncing a ball | Books

4: C | C is for computers. Teachers and students can do work and play games on computers. C is for clocks. We learn to tell time on digital and analog clocks.

5: D is for desks. A desk is a place where you sit and work. D is for dictionary. It is a book where you find how to spell words and the meaning of words. | D

6: E | E is for Excellence in Education Our school is a National Blue Ribbon School. F is for First Grade and flag. This is the entrance into the commons. We say the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag everyday. | F | Flag | First Grade

7: G is for globes. We learn all about our world with the globe. G is for gym. We go to the gym for PE everyday. | F | G | Globe | Gym

8: Hallway | H is for hallway.There is a long hallway that connects all three grades. | H | I | Mrs. Hall | H is for Mrs. Hall. She helped us make this book about GES! | I is for iPods. We have lots of iPods in the Media Center. We can check them out and play lots of cool games or listen to stories.

9: Jump Ropes | J is for jump rope. In PE, we like to jump rope. We have a fund raiser called Jump Rope for Heart. J is for Jelly Bean Field Day. We have JBFD in May. We play lots of games and earn jelly beans. | J | Jelly Bean Field Day

10: K | K | Kids | Kindergarten | Karate | K is for kids. K is for Kindergarten. We have 9 kindergarten classes. K is for Karate! We have a karate class after school..

11: Learning Center | L | L | L is for Learning Center. This is a class for special needs children.

12: M is for music.. Mrs. Talley is our music teacher. We have music once a week. M is for Media Center. Mrs. Martin is our Media Specialist. She helps us find and check out books. M is for money. We learn to count money at GES! | M | Music | Money | Media Center

13: N is for numbers. We use numbers in math class. N is for nurse. Mrs. Ashley is our school nurse. We go visit her when we are sick. | N | Numbers | Nurse

14: Kailey James | O | O is for office. The office is in the center of the school. The principal, counselor and secretary are in the office. We take notes to the office for our teachers.

15: P is for playground. On pretty days, we get to go outside and play on the playground. P is for principal. Mrs. Patton is the Principal of Guntersville Elementary School. She helps make our school a great place to be a kid! | Principal Patton | P | Playground

16: Q is for quiz. We take quizzes on the computer and on paper. | Q | R | R E C Y C L E | R is for recycle. We recycle paper, cans, and plastic. R is for read. We learn to read at GES. We poems, fiction, and non-fiction to learn about new things.

17: S is for Seven Habits. We are learning seven habits to help us become better leaders. and members of our school and community. S is for solar system. We learn about the solar system in science class. | S

18: T is for technology. We have technology class once a week. Miss Whitmore teaches us about how to use the computers. T is for Teacher's Lounge. The teachers can get a snack here. | T | Teacher's Lounge | Technology

19: U is for umbrella. The teachers have to use umbrellas at car bell on rainy days. | U

20: V is for vegetables. We eat healthy vegetables everyday in our lunchroom. | V | Vegetables

21: W is for water fountains in each commons and in the hallway.. W is for Mrs. Whitmore. She is the local tooth puller at GES! | W | Water Fountains | Mrs. "Tooth Fairy" Whitmore

22: X is for eXit signs. There are lots of exit signs in our school. You will see one in each classroom and in the halls. | X

23: Yearbook | Y | Y is for yearbook. Every year, we have a yearbook with pictures of us and fun things that we did at GES.

24: Z | z is for Zero the Hero. He visits the school every 10 days. | Z is for zoo animals. We learn about zoo animals in school.
