Publishing | Stages of the Writing Process | Writing | Literature: using books to model good writing | Minilessons: small time planned to teach students specific skills & techniques in writing that have been observed | Writing: time to work on individual work using the writing process (see column to the left)

3: Workshop | Conference: teacher & student one-on-one time to access work and reach new goals | Sharing: a time to build personal confidence and learn from peers | Assessment: evaluations & checklists to keep students accountable and aware of their work

4: Types of Literature Seen | Expository | Narrative | Work on creativity and entertaining others by writing a story that contains characters, setting, a plot, & resolution. If we have time we will write plays. | Telling the facts with a class newspaper and autobiographies
