BC: I am ready to explore the museum. I will use an inside voice and gentle hands in the museum.

FC: Long Island Children's Museum Social Story

1: This is a book. I can read the book and look at the pictures. This book will tell me what I can see and what I can do at the Long Island Children's Museum.

2: Each page will tell me about a different space in the museum. I can pick where I want to go. But I must stay with an adult.

3: In the Tot Spot I can pretend to be different people in the community.

4: In the bubble exhibit I can play and experiment with bubbles. I will keep the water and bubbles in the water table.

5: In the Tool Box I can explore with tools and gadgets. I must wait my turn.

6: At the "It's Alive" exhibit I can touch and explore the nature gallery | and touch and move the parts of the bodies in the body gallery.

7: I can pretend to broadcast news on local channel 12 in the communication station. I can see myself on the tv!

9: In the Changes and Challenges gallery I am allowed to carefully climb in the van and use the walkers and glasses in the exhibit.

11: In the mUSic gallery. I can make and listen to music. I will be gentle with the instruments. It might get noisy in this room. It is okay to cover my ears or leave the room if the music is too loud.

12: In the Bricks and Sticks exhibit I can build with blocks. Blocks are for building.

13: In the Pattern Studio I will find many mirrors and tesselation blocks. I will wait my turn in this exhibit.
