1: Reading Tips: Look for the life of the story. Ask yourself what do I know?

2: The setting of a story is where and when it takes place. Authors don't always tell you the setting. They sometimes leave it up to you to figure it out.THINK!

3: Helpful hints for finding a story's SETTING and MOOD. 1.Figure out where the story takes place ask yourself does the author give you any clues?

4: Read the sentence with the most details. The author may have put them there for a reason,so like a ''detective'' read the sentence again, sometimes you miss things important like a description or a detail in the take your pencil underline it so when you flip back after you reread the questions you'll see it underlined and will look at it and say oh yeah i need to remember this!

5: Try to look at things from the authors point of view. Maybe the author wants you to think like a ''detective'' While you are doing the reading EOG keep that pencil in your hand and when you see something interesting underline it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
