S: School Year 2010-2011

FC: Another Year Caught Learning 2010-2011

1: Starting off our year with a trip to Lock 12 down on the Susquehanna River. | Spending time with Daddy makes a field trip even more memorable! | Watching the Holtwood Dam at work! | Standing in the old Canal Lock 12.

2: In July, we visited the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. What an awesome place!

3: We especially enjoyed their heart learning area and playing around with electricity just like Ben Franklin! What fun!

4: Our Trip to Washington D.C. Visiting with cousins- Taking in some museums- Riding the subway- Having a lot of fun! | August 2010

5: We enjoyed visiting with Alec, Tae, Aunt Cindy, and Uncle Garett in Washington, D.C. We went to the Air and Space Museum, National Museum of American History, and the National Postal Museum. We also enjoyed watching the planes land at Ronald Reagan Airport! What a memorable time!

6: In September, we went on a tour of the PA Capitol building in Harrisburg. We especially enjoyed seeing the House of Reps room and all the lights in the chandeliers!

7: We also went to the State Museum and learned about our state's history! We got to watch a planetarium show on the stars. What a fun-filled day learning about PA!

8: In October, we went to the Whitaker Center to enjoy its Carnival of Health. Lots of fun activities to teach us about our amazing bodies!

9: Making things is always fun! Laura made animal and plant cells for KDO. She also did a presentation on Manatees. Rebecca prepared a report and presentation for KDO on King Tut. She also made a model of a generator. We love puzzles - this one was on PA!

10: Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg, PA We practiced our marching and made our regiment flag. | We took Morgan & Moriah with us. We were each assigned a real soldier's name and fate...

11: What a trek through the fields! Only Laura's soldier survived! A true hands-on lesson on the Civil War!

12: ...then Becca and Alec pretended to be the guards! | Watching the changing of the guards was interesting.... | Visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier after watching Cindy and Garett in the Marine Corps Marathon in DC.

13: After visiting with cousins, we went to the Capitol building for a tour. We also got to visit the Library. of Congress Even though the girls are not as interested in field trips, it helps when Daddy can go along and we all learn together! October 30-31, 2010

14: New York City December 2010

15: Laura and Mommy went on a bus trip to NYC for her 13th birthday! | We had good seats in the balcony and loved the 3D part! | What an awesome time we had! A day filled with many special memories!!! | We really enjoyed the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular Show

16: February 2011 We went to the PA Garden Expo where Uncle Eric's "Greenskeeper" had a showcase. We enjoyed all the beautiful flowers and even learned about owls and birds of prey through a demonstration.

17: In March, we went to Messiah College to take part in a Lewis and Clark Expedition field trip. We learned a lot about journaling, triangular measurement, and animals they may have encountered.

18: A trip to the Hershey Museum is always more fun with family!

19: It was toys from the past - what a blast! Of course, spending time with cousins, Aunt Cindy, and Grandma makes any field trip memorable!

20: Learning more about how "My Side of the Mountain" character would have survived out in the wild. Daddy came along to learn with us. We learned about edible plants and plants to stay away from. We also learned about birds of prey.

21: We spent some time journaling and writing down our thoughts like Sam would have done in his journal. What a great way to tie in a book we read by living it out as he would have. We heard lots of birds and even saw a black snake! Great time spent together as a family!

22: Baseball in Education Day May 2011 | Enjoying the YORK REVOLUTIONS with Morgan and Moriah even with some rain!

23: Greek Festival | Ms. Sue & Ms. Diane | KDO friends - Kelly, Mikayla, and Sarah Performing their jumprope routine! JUMP! | King Tut! | Egyptian Festival

24: Our Year was filled with many activities including: Dance, Horseback Lessons, Worship Band, and YHSA Soccer! | Enjoying time spent with friends learning about the wonderful world God has made.
