Steve in a Scarf Carl was one of the three sons of a very rich farmer who had recently passed away. His father’s inheritance went to his two greedy brothers. Carl’s brothers, Paul and Burney, were very pleased after inheriting the farm, but all Carl got was a beautiful blue bird named Steve.
Steve in a Scarf Then one day the blue bird started to talk. “My name is Steve," said the bird, “I would love a red scarf for it is getting cold." Carl was surprised that his bird could talk and was in total shock, but he gave Steve the red scarf like he asked.
Steve in a Scarf The next day Steve flew up into the woods, and poor Carl thought he left him. Steve flew and flew and flew until he found the place in the woods where the trees grow the finest, juiciest apples and grapes in the land. Steve took the finest of the apples and grapes to the king. The king was pleased and asked whom these gift were from. Steve told him they were compliments from his lord, Carl. This was now happening every three days, and the more fruit Steve brought the king, the more the king wanted to meet Lord Carl.
Steve in Scarf Steve overheard the king saying he was going for a ride in his carriage through the farms on Monday morning. So Steve told Carl to bathe in the river on that Monday morning. When the king drove by, Steve flew into the carriage yelling, “Bandits are drowning my master!” The king was shocked while Carl made his way out of the river, dripping wet. The king offered him new and finer clothes and then the king, Carl and Steve moved on.
Steve in Scarf While they were riding through the farms, the king would asked the workers who owned the farm. Every time he would ask the workers, they all said the land was owned by Lord Carl because Steve had paid them to say that.
Steve in a scarf Then the king came upon the mighty castle. The castle was dark, black, scary with huge walls rising 20 feet, and towers rising over the clouds casting huge shadows. The castle was owned by the one and only Dr.Whiskers, the evil cat. He had the power to transform himself into any other animal that he chooses.
Steve in a scarf Steve flew out of the carriage into the dark scary castle which no one else dared to enter. Once Steve was in, he found his way to Dr.Whiskers. “I have heard you have the power to transform into any animal you choose?” asked Steve. “Yes I can," replied Dr.Whiskers. “Would you mind transforming into a worm?” asked Steve. Dr.Whiskers replied by transforming in to a small, defenseless worm. Steve grabbed the worm, threw him in the air, AND WITH ONE MIGHTY GULP STEVE DEVOURED THE WORM!
Steve in a Scarf Steve had a big feast prepared for the king and his royal family. Carl was in nice clothes the king had given him and he convinced the king and his family of his riches. Once the princess arrived she knew it was love at first sight, and her father was very pleased and would love to have Carl as his son-in-law. Steve had taught Carl that brains can beat riches. Steve never had to eat worms again and Carl and Steve would be part of the royal family. The marriage was arranged AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!
