1: A is for ATTENDANCE. It's important to come to school each day. If you don't bring an excuse when you come back, you'll hear from Mrs. Fant and Mrs. Wilbanks!
2: B is for BOOKS. We have a whole library full of them. Mrs. Martin is always happy to suggest a good one for you. By the way, her favorite book is Island of the Blue Dolphins | The most often checked out books from the library are: 1. Green Eggs and Ham 2. Cat in the Hat 3. Vote for Spongebob 4. Catalina Magdalena 5. The Funny Baby
3: C is for our COUNSELOR. Mrs. Smith. She is always there whenever you need her. One of her favorite things about Childersburg Elementary is getting to teach children to make good choices. She is happy that she gets to work with all the students.
4: D is for DELICIOUS FOOD! Our lunch ladies serve up a good breakfast and lunch for us each day. We surveyed 2nd-4th graders to find out what the most popular lunch is at our school.
5: E is for ELMO and other technology. ELMO has really made our day easier and fun! We've also got a lot of other technology around here too, like the CPS (classroom performance system) clickers.
6: F is for FIRST GRADE. First Grade can be a lot of fun! Mrs. Barnett, Mrs. Maxwell, and Mrs. Miles sure do love to teach us reading and math!
7: G is for GYM. We always have a good time with Mrs.Roberson.
8: H is for HELPING HANDS Sometimes you need a helping hand. You can always count on Mrs. Potts, Mrs. Butler, and Mrs. Pemberton!
9: I is for... I CAN, YOU CAN, WE CAN! I CAN AND I WILL BE RESPECTFUL. I CAN AND I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE.
10: J is for our JANITORS. | Mr. White and Mr. Jackson work hard all day to make sure our school stays clean and safe for us.
11: Mrs. Harbin, Mrs. Hobbs, and Mrs. Walker sure do make learning fun! | K is for KINDERGARTEN!
12: L is for LABS. Here at CES we have a computer lab and a science lab.
13: M is for MUSIC. We always look forward to Tuesdays so we can go to music. Mrs. Wilder always has a fun class planned. We love to play the instruments. 3rd graders can join recorder and 4th graders can be in the Chorus.
14: N is for the NEW LUNCHROOM! Our lunchroom got a make over this year! We love the new paint!
15: O is for OSCAR. You do not want to end up here. All work and no play is Mrs. Calhoun's motto.
16: P is for Principal. Mrs. Brooks is our principal here at CES. This is her 5th year here. We like to make her proud by making good choices and staying out of trouble. It's like she always says... The choice is yours.
17: Q is for QUAINT. Our school is a small, quaint school. We like that.
18: R is for our READING COACH! Mrs. Finn is our reading coach, she cheers us on as we practice for DIBELS. We also like to help her with flag patrol in the mornings.
19: S is for SECOND GRADE. Second grade is a lot of fun. Mrs. Dennis, Mrs. Elliott, and Mrs.Warren love to teach reading, too!
20: T is for THIRD GRADE! (We think it is the best!) We've learned so much, like multiplication and division. We've had a lot of fun, too!
21: U is for UPPERCLASSMEN. The fourth graders are the big guys around here. They are preparing to go to middle school.
22: V is for VERY FUN ACTIVITIES! We have had a lot of fun this year from field trips to special guests.
23: W is for WORKING HARD. | Anything worthwhile takes hard work!
24: X is for X-citement! There are a lot of days to look forward to during the year. We surveyed students to find out which day of the year they look forward to most.
25: Y is for YOU! YOU are special, YOU are loved. YOU make the school a great place to be.
26: Z is for ZILCH.. The number of things we'd change about Childersburg Elementary School.
