This mixbook is about the brain and nervous system. You should learn more about the brain in this mixbook.
Medulla Oblongata | The Medulla Oblongata controls all the important organs. The Medulla Oblongata connects to the spinal cord.
Neuron | Neurons have the messages sent through them to get to the brain or to a limb.
Cerebrum | The cerebrum is at the back of the brain and takes you about 87% of the brain. The cerebrum is composed of gray matter, that is made up of nerve cell bodies constituting to the outer layer of the brain. The cerebrum wall of the brain is almost 2mm thick. The cerebrum is involved mainly with the intellectual process involving thinking and action.
Cerebellum | The cerebellum processes input from other areas of the brain, spinal cord and sensory receptors to provide things to help you for coordinated, smooth movements of the skeletal muscular system. A stroke affecting the cerebellum may cause dizziness, nausea, balance, and coordination problems.
Spinal cord | The spinal cord is connected to the brain stem. The spinal cord helps you stand along with other things. The spinal cord and brain make up the Central Nervous System. The spinal cord functions primarily in the transmission of neural signals between the brain and the rest of the body. | It also contains neural circuits that can independently control numerous reflexes. The spinal cord has three major functions: 1) Serve as a conduit for motor information, which travels down the spinal cord. 2) Serve as a conduit for sensory information, which travels up the spinal cord. 3) Serve as a center for coordinating certain reflexes.
