1: John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born in Brookline, MA on May 29, 1917. He was the second of 9 children, but he was especially close to his older brother, Joe.
2: Kennedy graduated from Harvard University in 1940 with a degree in science.
3: Also in 1940, his book, Why England Slept, was published.
4: In 1941, Kennedy joined the US Navy. During World War 2, his PT boat was sliced in half by a Japanese Destroyer ship. | Japanese Destroyer | Patrol Torpedo (PT)
5: After Kennedy and his men escaped the wreckage, they swam to an Island, on which Kennedy scrached a note on a coconut to island natives. | He kept the coconut on his desk at the Whitehouse.
6: The natives helped them to saftey and lieutenant Kennedy recived to awards for his actions.
7: In 1946, Kennedy won the election for House of Representatives. | In 1952, he was elected into the Senate.
8: In 1953, he married Jacqueline Bouvier
9: Over the next few years, they had four kids, but only two survived past infancy. The 2 that lived were Caroline and John Jr. and the two that didnt were Arabella and Patrick.
10: In 1960, John was elected to be the presidential candidate for the Democratic Party....
11: and on January 20, 1961, he took the oath of office and read his inaugural adress.
12: On Noveember 22, 1963, JFK and his group arived in Dallas. They consisted of: President Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy Governor John Connally, Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, Ralph Yarborough.
13: As John and his group pulled onto Elm Street, it was not long before shots rang out. The President was hit in the head and the left shoulder. Gov. John Connally was hit in the back. | Seconds after the accident, the limousine rushed off to Parkland Memorial Hospital.
14: Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested 2 hours later for assassination of the president. He was then shot by a man named Jack Ruby, who was grieving over his president.
15: People all over the world were in shock and greif. One bar owner was suffering so ,uuch, that he found and killed Lee Harvey Oswald.
17: At John F. Kennedy's funeral, John Jr. saluted to his father as they carried the coffin by. It was also John Jr.'s birthday.
