6: Dennis is a Business Analysts II in the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) department with Noridian Administrative Services (NAS). The EDI department at NAS collects all the electronic claims that NAS processes. With more than 9 years at NAS, working all of them in the EDI department, Dennis' knowledge and experience of EDI enables him to speak to wide range topics regarding EDI. Jill is a Medicare Part B Provider Outreach and Education Representative (POE) with Noridian Administrative Services (NAS) who assists those providers who supply services in South Dakota and Utah. With more than 10 years at NAS, working the Appeals department, Provider Contact Center and POE, Jill's vast knowledge of NAS enables her to share a wide spectrum of Medicare Part B knowledge. | Noridian: Dennis Whitehead and Jill Wiseman
8: April grew up in Eureka, SD and obtained her B.S. in Dietetecs and Food and Nutrition at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She completed her Dietetics internship through Iowa State University with most of her clinical rotations taking place at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre. She is currently employed at Faulkton Area Medical Center where she fills the roles of Dietician and Education/Wellness Coordinator. Sorensen is also a certified Group Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor. Prior to her nutrition career, she was employed for 5 years as a Program Director at the Lake Crystal Area Recreation Center in Lake Crystal, MN, in which she had the pleasure of working with various age groups and ability levels. 10: Nicole Beck: Nicole is the Stakeholder/Provider Relations Lead for the SD MEDX Project. Nicole's responsibility is to ensure that all providers who use the SD MEDX are ready and able to use the new system. This includes collaboratively developing, implementing and monitoring a readiness strategy and plan within the provider community and DSS. Prior to her work with DSS, Nicole worked for the South Dakota Department of Health/Office of Rural Health as the Recruitment Programs Coordinator. Angie Bren: Angie is the Stakeholder/Provider Relations Manager for the SD MEDX Project. Angie's responsibility is to communicate all SD MEDX readiness information to the Stakeholders and providers and also ensures that all providers who use the SD MEDX are trained and able to use the new system. This includes collaboratively developing, implementing and monitoring a readiness strategy and plan within the provider community and DSS. 12: DAKOTACARE Scott Jamison: Scott has been the Vice President of Provider Relations at DAKOTACARE for 9 years. Prior to that, he was a clinic manager in Madison, SD and Sioux Falls, SD for 20 years. He is a native of Howard, SD and a graduate of Dakota State University. Chad Roggow: Chad has been a Provider Relations Representative for DAKOTACARE for 3 years. Prior to DAKOTACARE, Chad spent 5 years in the Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record industry representing McKesson and AllScripts systems. Chad is a native of Burke, SD and a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls. | Sanford Health Plan Stephanie Erp: Stephanie is the Network Services Manager and oversees the Provider & Payer Relations Department at Sanford Health Plan. She has been with Sanford Health Plan since 2000. Amy Lindberg: Amy has been in the healthcare industry since 1988 and with Sanford Health Plan a little over 1 year as a Provider Relations Representative. As a healthcare author, speaker, and trainer, Cory has worked in or been a trainer to acute-care hospitals, specialty hospitals, medical groups, urgent care centers, skilled nursing facilities, home health, hospice, and outpatient facilities. 29: Day Egusquiza Day brings over 28 years experience in healthcare reimbursement, business office operations, contracting, and compliance implementation. Additionally, her experience includes eight years as a Director of a Physician Medical Management billing service and most recently completed an integrated business office between a hospital and a large physician clinic. She has been an entrepreneur in hospital and physician practice accounts receivable management and a leader in redesigning numerous organizations. Her work includes providing insight and guidance as a compliance, HIPAA, and APC educator to department heads as well as Business operation's staff. Ms. Egusquiza is a nationally recognized speaker on continuous quality improvement (CQI), benchmarking, redesigning, reimbursement systems, and implementing an operational focus of compliance - both in hospitals and practices. She has been on the AAHAM National Advisory Council, HFMA National Advisory Council, HFMA Faculty, is a past President of the Idaho HFMA Chapter, and recently received the LIfetime Achievement Award. She has been highlighted in JCAHO's Six Hospitals in Search of Excellence, Zimmerman's Receivable Report, Health Care Biller, and HFMA's HFM & Patient Accounts as well as other healthcare publications. She received the Idaho Hospital Association "Distinguished Service Award" for her legislative work and training on new indigent law. HFMA ANI's attendees voted her in the top 25% of presenters - giving her the Distinguished Speaker recognition at each ANI where she has spoken.

37: Kathy Dorale Kathy is the vice president of health information management at Avera Health in Sioux Falls, SD. Kathy provides coding and billing reviews and education for Avera health's 29 hospitals and multi-facility healthcare settings in a five-state region. She has experience working with electronic medical records and revenue cycle initiatives collaboratively with Avera Hospitals. Prior to working at Avera's corporate office, Kathy was the director of health information management, business office and registration areas in acute care hospital settings with experience in contract work for long-term care. She has also served as president and treasurer for the South Dakota Health Information Management Association, as well as serving on several committees for the state association. Kathy serves on the Provider Roundtable committee with providers across the states. The Committee provides comment and testimony on reimbursement and coding issues to the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid-appointed task force during open comment period for the outpatient perspective payment system, biannually, on behalf of all providers.
38: Matthew Michels Serving as South Dakota's current Lietenant Governor, Mr. Michels is a healthcare law attorney with vast experience in healthcare legal issues including managed care, physician-hospital ventures, clinical malpractice, medical staff peer review, healthcare risk management, governmental regulation compliance and various business law issues. Mr. Michels has given numerous national and local presentations on healthcare law topics including managed care, healthcare professional liability and risk management, individual healthcare self-determination, integrated healthcare delivery systems and governmental regulatory matters. | BJ Dvorak BJ entered the clearinghouse business in its infancy in 1990. The first national clearinghouse started just a few years prior to that. During those first years, BJ developed links to local, regional, and national payers that had never received electronic claims previously. BJ's company was successful in helping not only commercial but government entities to reach their goals of receiving claims electronically and returning HIPAA compliant EOB's and reports back to the providers. During her years in the EDI business, BJ's companies have received high customer service satisfaction as well as recognition from regional and national companies. eProvider Solutions now has clients in 48 states in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.
