S: Alaska 2011
Anchorage to Seward The Adventure Begins | White Dall Sheep on the mountain tops | Alaska | Our adventure into the Land of the Midnight Sun was amazing. 10 straight days of sunlight. No night time.
The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center Seward, AK
Reindeer Sausage (not a fan) It tastes like reindeer smell | The Harbor | Fresh Caught Rock Fish | Our morning diner
 Kenai Fjords
My one shot of the humpback whale above. Every time I put my camera down it broke the surface.
Lazy Sea Lions | Natural waterfall from the melting glacier above
 Puffins In Flight
Our whale watching boat trip through Kenai Fjords stopped for lunch on Fox Island. They say the rocks here are the best skipping stones in the whole country.
The Boat Trip We got all our gear to go salmon fishing. After a 45 minute boat ride into the Gulf of Alaska, the lines were cast. Two minutes later mom was on her knees on deck sick. Two minutes after that the fish started biting hard. Two minutes after that Alyssa was throwing up. Yet another few minutes more and every one of us was so sick that we couldn't even reel in the fish on the lines. 45 minutes back to shore we wondered why we paid money to go deep sea fishing again.
Exit Glacier A prehistoric glacier whose ice is actually dense blue. Due to warming it has been receding for almost 200 years and the river below is the result
Dog Sled Adventures We got to see the training camp of Iditarod Winner Mitch Seavey. We learned that the Iditarod race is actually a commemorative event. During a diptheria outbreak in winter, no one could reach the dying children of Nome with life saving medicine. Locals handed off the medicine by dog sled all the way from Anchorage to Nome.
Alex getting dressed in musher gear.
 Duncan's Restaurant
Homer is an amazing little coastal town. It has majestic mountains, lush greenlands and the beauty of the sea. It is home to the Salty Dawg Saloon and the Hillstrand brothers from Deadliest Catch. In 1964 one of the largest earthquakes in American history knocked half of the town into the ocean.
 Alaskan Suites | Homer, AK
Katmai National Park, Brooks Camp, was an amazing fly-in adventure for the kids and I. John offered to stay behind with Alyssa as she was too little to go. At Katmai you walk free among the bears and they pay no attention to you. We saw bears fishing in the water falls and mamas walking with their babies.
 All Aboard
Talkeetna was one of my favorite towns. They have their own general store that only sells dry goods. The rest of their food is caught, grown or home made. It has a small strip with a few down home stores and restaurants. Most of the summer help is from out of state as the locals spend the summer tending their land and hunting for winter. There is an odd mix of people here but it was so quiet and quaint. They should make a movie abut this town.
 Fireweed | Talkeetna
 The Alaskan Pipeline
Fairbanks | El Dorado Gold Mine
 Denali National Park
 Grizzly Bear Cabins and Campground
 Nenana River

 Love those blue eyes
Random Snapshots | of Vacation Fun
 Good Times
 Ready for Take Off
Emptying the toilet tanks. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
 Ice Cream in Fairbanks
Darn bear | The End | Best Friends
