4: About the Authors | Hi, I am Courtney and I go to Arcola. I hope you like our Mixbook that we made for you. I liked that we could do our insects with real pictures instead of pictures that other people made. I hope you have a good time with our Mixbook because we spent a long time on it. Hi, I am Skye. I go to Arcola and I really like it. I liked doing this book for students to read. I have also done a book like this on crayfish and I really enjoyed it. I liked observing my insect and I liked putting the pictures together in this book. Thank you for reading about my insect and I hope you enjoy it! Hi, I am Jack and I go to Arcola. My favorite part about making this book was taking the pictures and observing my insect. I learned a lot about insects doing this book. I hope you learn a lot about insects by reading our book. 6: My insect has 4 wings and they are green, pink, and black.
7: My insect's legs are so tiny you can hardly see them. The legs are all black.
8: My insect's antennae are all black. They are not very long.
9: My insects eyes are used to see.
10: My insect's tongue is used to get all the nectar out of the flower to drink the nectar.
11: The wings are used to fly from place to place.
12: The eyes are used to see things like flowers and to see where to go.
13: The antennae are used to sense things like flowers. They are black and skinny.
14: The legs are used to help them walk around and help stay on things like flowers.
15: The head is where the eyes and the antennae are.
16: My insect's legs are very skinny like a tooth pick.
17: Their wings are silver with black dots. The wings are smoother than an apple and are inside the shell.
18: Their body feels hard and rough and smooth.
19: Their underside is connected to all their body parts.
20: My insect uses its eyes to see.
21: My insect has two antennae that help it to feel things.
22: My insect has 2 wings and they are black and shiny.

24: My insect has 2 eyes that help it see. The eyes are on the head.

28: Rose's insect was a butterfly! | Fun Fact: I learned that butterflies fly to where it is warm in the wintertime. That's why we don't see them in the winter!
30: Skye's insect was a Monarch butterfly! | Fun Fact: Look how cool the wings are. See how their body is. The Monarch butterfly uses their wings for migrating. There can be thousands of them on one tree, but you may not even see them! They look like little orange leaves. The black and white on the wings is to blend in too! Their body is black with white dots to help them blend into the trees.
32: Courtney's insect was a beetle! | Fun Fact: I found my beetle out in the courtyard. I like the spots on my beetle. My beetle likes to be with other beetles like it.
34: Jack's insect was a Bee! | Fun Fact: A bee can fly for a long time without stopping. Even when it lands, it keeps crawling around!
