The chef was a slave in the time of the renissance. if you were going to become a chef it was a proffesion until you actually entered it.Once entered into the proffesion you have basically become a slave to the kitchen and whoever you are serving. You had no option in what you wanna cook or anything because it is impossible to cook what you want because thats what the proffesion in that time brought.

The cook has always been needed in society. They are the men and women that drive the working class through there day with scrumptious food.No matter what time period there in they have mostly used the same tools and techniques. The only thing that has changed over time is how much sharper or faster those tools are.

Some of those tools we use today haven't changed at all since the time of the renaissance. Those tools that have stayed the same over time have been the chef's knife, the cooking pot and more. These tools have been essential in preparing food. they also didn't get a steak from the grocery store though they butchered their own meat. | The knives and pots are extremely different! You didn't do your research.

One of the biggest difference in the art of being a chef in the 15th century and now is that when you were in the renaissance the profession isn't as highly regarded as it is today. In the renaissance time period the chef was normally regarded as a slave to the king or pope. There would be one large kitchen in a castle or tavern normally and its run by many different people. there would be one man that stood at the top of the kitchen who designed the menu's for the king then each and every other person in the kitchen had a specific task one person to bring wood for the fire one for stirring the pot something for everything.

the renaissance chef to the modern chef.

The modern chef is highly regarded because it has now evolved into an art form. It has even become a form of entertainment for the masses. You even have to spend years in college to even call yourself a chef.To become an executive chef the highest in the culinary world it takes most of your life to work your way up the ranks

The modern chef has a wide variety of tools that he can use today that weren't available to the renaissance cook because either there wasn't enough technology at the time or just no one had thought of it yet. Some of these technology was the oven the microwave and even the modern knife is sharper and even more balanced for a more clean cut.

the modern chef's kitchen is alot different than the Renaissance kitchen in the past the kitchen had every aspect of it controlled by a different person. the modern kitchen can be controlled by just one executive chef. Although this can be achieved the modern kitchen isn't always run by one it will normally have the same set up as the renaissance kitchen just with less people and each person with more responsibility
